Compact traumatic gun WASP R for effective self-defense

Traumatic pistols, first of all, should be used for self-defense, and only then for entertaining or sport shooting. Therefore, you must first pay attention to certain characteristics of such weapons, for example, on its dimensions and weight. Many weapon companies have released really compact travmatiku, but did exactly what you need, it turned out the company ZVI, which is engaged in the production of WASP-R. At the heart of this gun are not only miniature dimensions, but also interesting solutions in the design that were not previously used in another traumatic weapon.

WASP R General Information

Many types of traumatic guns are created on the basis of combat pistols, the manufacturer did not make an exception here, so the Kevin ZP-98 is at the heart of the compact traumatic equipment. Having adapted it for traumatic 9 mm RA cartridges, he did not lose his main characteristics, remaining the same reliable and high-quality.

Of course, the effectiveness of any traumatic pistol depends on the ammunition used, so you should not expect incredible power from the 9 mm RA cartridges known to everyone. The Czech company was able to make a compact, convenient weapon that can use charges that are not as powerful as the dimensions of the gun.

As for the sizes of WASP R, they are really impressive. So, the length of the weapon is 116 millimeters, and the height is 95 millimeters. Compactness complements the width, which is at 23 millimeters. From this we can conclude that this tool is so compact that it can be covertly transported in a pocket of simple summer trousers without any discomfort, because its weight is only 390 grams.

The traumatic WASP R pistol received such a low weight not only because of its small size, but also because of the frame, which is made of simple aluminum. The remaining parts, which account for the main load during the shooting, are made of durable steel weapons. If we talk about the overall picture of quality, then it is only to say that many details are taken precisely from the combat equivalent, it immediately becomes clear that the instrument is durable and reliable. The same frame is taken exactly from the combat KevinZP-98, so each buyer can be sure that it has high strength.

All characteristics of the instrument:

  • 9 mm PA cartridges are used;
  • The length of the weapon is 116 millimeters;
  • The length of the barrel is 55 millimeters;
  • The height of the weapon is 95 millimeters;
  • The width of the weapon is 23 millimeters;
  • The weight of the discharged gun is 390 grams;
  • The magazine holds 6 or 8 rounds.

The quality and design of the gun

High quality is achieved not only at the expense of components taken from the military progenitor, but also from the parts of the traumatic weapons that have high quality production. WASP R has a thick-walled barrel that can easily withstand the use of live ammunition. Certification he passed only due to its short length, the presence of two "teeth" in the barrel and the unusual design of the chamber.

The length of the barrel is 57 millimeters. This suggests that the powder charge of the cartridge will not be used as efficiently as possible, but the energy released will be enough to hit the enemy. Speaking about shooting accuracy, we can safely say that the Czech gun is the leader among the short-barreled trauma. But anyone who is interested in buying this weapon should remember that because of the low weight, the recoil increases, which is not inherent in heavier traumatic pistols.

Due to the small size, it may seem inconvenient for many to have a tool handle. In order to shoot WASP R as accurately as possible, you will need to get used to this weapon, to its handle. As soon as you adapt to using it, you will produce excellent accuracy and accuracy of shooting.

Jamming of a bullet or rupture of a liner is impossible here due to the construction of barriers in the barrel bore. The manufacturer made them very small, which is not typical for a traumatic weapon. The deformation of the cartridge is so low here that it can be said that it does not exist at all.

We should talk separately about the gun chamber, as it received a unique design from Czech engineers. Many manufacturers come up with a variety of ways to get the most blunt cartridge enter into the chamber. ZVI did not look at other manufacturers and came up with its solution to this problem, which, in fact, lay on the surface: they simply placed the pistol chamber at an angle to the barrel.

By the way, this decision helped get this weapon a certificate, despite the design of its trunk. Of course, such a decision increases the load on the bore, but I have already said that it will be so strong that it can withstand the load from firing powerful, live ammunition.

What to choose ammo?

Despite the fact that you can use even the most powerful charges, the topic with the choice of cartridges for WASP R remains relevant. The manufacturer decided to install a rigid return spring in its product. It completely limits the use of weak cartridges. Of course, one shot can be made, but the next cartridge will not be able to recharge itself, it simply does not have enough energy to compress the spring.

Why did ZVI install such a return spring, not allowing owners to shoot weak cartridges? The answer here is obvious: when choosing between weak and powerful cartridges, the engineers of the Czech company chose the latter. The fact is that when using a soft return spring, it will not be possible to shoot powerful cartridges: this will lead to a burst or deflation of the cartridge cases, which ultimately will lead to a complete breakdown of the gun.

That is why the manufacturer recommends using only powerful charges of 9 mm RA: Magnum or Slaughter + will be an excellent option. If you need to do training shooting, but you do not want to spend powerful ammunition, you can use medium-power cartridges with a factory spring. If you have the opportunity to use only weak charges, then replace the factory return spring with a softer one.

What are the disadvantages of a Czech gun?

Like any other thing, this tool is not without flaws, which everyone who is interested in buying WASP R should know about. The main disadvantages are related to the characteristics of the weapon size. As mentioned above, the small size allows not only to secretly carry the gun, but also affects the shooting: the recoil increases significantly, which affects the accuracy.

The main cause of discomfort here is the handle. It has a small length and a small width, which is why even a person with a small palm does not fit all his fingers on it, what can we say about people with large palms. The small thickness of the handle and the low weight deliver tremendous discomfort to the shooter during use of the tool due to recoil. The gun sits in his hand very uncertainly and at any time can simply slip out.

This problem can be solved by the "heel", which is put on the store, but even this is not the most optimal option. A favorite solution to this inconvenience is to use a magazine for 8 rounds, which is longer than the factory one. With him at the shooter all the fingers are placed on the handle, it becomes more convenient to hold the weapon. Such a course, of course, changes the appearance of the pistol, someone may like it, some do not, but this is already a matter of taste of every person.

WASP R construction

The design of the Czech pistol is simply disgraceful, the designers refused to introduce any additional mechanisms in order to preserve the original dimensions of the combat KevinZP-98. The first thing that draws attention to every lover of trauma is the lack of a trigger.

The trigger mechanism is a single action, shooting is carried out only by a self-platoon. Because of its small size, this delivers certain difficulties for gun owners, since the trigger is very tight, so you need to get used to it.

Another point worth paying attention to is the lack of a safety system. Although, it indirectly replaces it with the tight pull of the trigger. To attribute the lack of a fuse to the minus is not worth it, as the gun WASP R has a high degree of security. But the work of the trigger can be safely attributed to the minuses.

What can be concluded?

Compact traumatic pistols are usually recommended as an additional tool for self-defense, but this is a completely different case. Due to its excellent characteristics and high power, this weapon can be safely recommended as the main option for regular self-defense.

Excellent in this gun and value for money. The price in stores varies around a thousand dollars, the instrument has high reliability and durability, but, of course, like any other, it has its own drawbacks, which, with regular use, are uncritical.

I recommend that you purchase just such a gun if you want to be confident in your safety. Also remember that due to the high power, the probability of inflicting deep wounds to the attacker in the warm season, when a person, as a rule, does not wear a lot of clothes, is high.
