GAZ-3307 - the first truck of the fourth generation

Gas-3307 is the first truck of the fourth generation of the Gorky plant. The design of the new transport began in the 80s of the last century, in 1989 the mass production began. The history of production was short, ended in 1996. The dumper was replaced by a more economical Gas-3309.

In 2001, production was resumed: 3307 received a number of structural changes. Now mass production is closed completely: the factory only fulfills government orders, releasing small quantities of Gas-3307.

General information about GAZ-3307

The car Gas-3307 was supposed to replace the old generation of cars 52/53, which in the 80s was very outdated. The development of engineers set a new benchmark in the creation and production of freight transport. The design was completely revised: the rectangular shape replaced the rounded one. The windshield has become more, increasing visibility. The hood was bigger, the headlights remained round.

Cabin doors have become larger, the area of ​​the landing aperture has increased. However, in the design, still, there were no handrails, which is why the landing remained problematic. Inside the car there are two seats and a lot of free space, the cabin is simple and boring.

Initially, the dump truck had only a gasoline power unit with a carburetor. In 1992, the plant purchased Japanese diesel engines Hino, but the demand for such cars was low. It was decided to produce their engines. The demand for trucks fell after the collapse of the USSR: the collective farms were disbanded, there was no place to operate the transport.

The machine of the Gorky plant was used to transport bulk materials. The body structure ensured their quick unloading. It received the greatest popularity in agriculture: the cars moved well not only on the asphalt surface, but also on the ground. In our years, Gas-3307 continues to be used on farms and small construction projects.

Many design decisions were taken from the previous generation of transport manufacturer. The main features of this truck include:

  • A powerful power unit that allows you to accelerate to 90 kilometers per hour and is equipped with a preheating system;
  • Rear Axle Gas-3307 - leading. The standard, reliable transmission has 4 forward and 1 back speeds;
  • The presence of heating and ventilation systems for comfortable conditions in the cabin. Good visibility due to large windshield;
  • Maximum load - 4500 kg;
  • The fuel tank holds 105 liters.

Gas-3307 specifications

The power plant is located in front, the drive is installed on the rear wheels. Sizes of transport:

  • 6.5 meters in length;
  • 2.4 meters in length;
  • 2.35 meters in height;
  • Car weight - 7850 kilograms.

Ground clearance (26.5 centimeters) makes it easy to overcome the irregularities of small and medium sizes, as well as small water barriers. To accelerate to 80 kilometers per hour, the dump truck needs a little more than a minute, the maximum speed is 90.

Fuel consumption Gas-3307 acceptable. When traveling at a speed of 60 km / h, it was slightly less than 20 liters per 100 km. Compared with the previous generation, it has been reduced. If you move with the maximum possible speed (80-90), then the flow will rise to 26 liters for the same distance.

Engine

For all the time of production, the dump truck was equipped with a variety of engines, but the most popular was the 8-cylinder engine, in which they were located in a V-shaped pattern. It was called ZMZ-5231.10, had a liquid cooling system, was supplemented with a carburetor and met Euro-2 environmental standards.

The main characteristics of this power plant include:

  • Engine capacity Gas-3307 - 4 liters;
  • The motor developed up to 124 horsepower;
  • Torque was 3200-3400 rpm at 298 Nm;
  • Weight - 275 pounds.

The standard fuel is AI-76 or 80 gasoline. With some technical modifications to the Gas-3307 ignition system, it was possible to “feed” the AI-92. Some versions of the car were equipped with another unit for 125 horsepower. Its main disadvantage was high fuel consumption. After its practical use, the plant management decided to create its own power plant, which will run on diesel.

At first there was an attempt to use Japanese diesel engines. However, such machines did not receive much demand. Therefore, the company decided to develop its engines in order to reduce the cost of production and increase the demand for new vehicle modifications. Domestic development received 122 horsepower, was equipped with a turbocharger and cooled by air.

GAZ-3307 device

The fourth generation driver's seat has been modified. It could be adjusted under the driver for the angle of inclination and in the horizontal plane. Dashboard made of plastic. She put all the necessary sensors on herself, giving the driver all the necessary information about the technical condition of the dump truck.

The design of the cabin was designed in accordance with the latest style trends of the time. It was based on rectangular shapes, which allowed to increase the amount of free space inside. Additional storage places for small things (tools, rags, etc.) appeared in the doors. The heating system was supplemented with thermal insulation - it did not allow heat to leave the cabin.

In general, the design of the cabin was taken from Gas-4301, which was not launched into production, remaining a test sample. It could be two people. The driver could freely reach the necessary controls. Bare metal trim was replaced with upholstery, seat belts were added.

Engineers of the plant focused on the Russian automotive market. This ensured the presence in the design of the starting heater, which allowed the car to start even after several days of inactivity in the cold. Along the hood is a pipe-air intake.

Initially, the design of the steering was presented in the form of a globoidal worm, supplemented by a three-ridge roller. A few years after the start of production, the system was modified: a screw with a ball nut lay in the base. Such a fit simplified truck management. For comfortable taxiing was added GUR.

Gas-3307 brakes are represented by three mechanisms:

  • Working. Influences all wheel mechanisms. Each circuit has a hydraulic booster. The mechanism comes into effect after depressing the brake pedal. Drum mechanisms are triggered by excessive pressure;
  • Spare. Represented by a separate contour of the first mechanism;
  • Parking lot It has an effect on the rear wheels. Used to hold vehicles in place on the rise or during parking.

The dump truck suspension has not been modified. The chassis had high strength, so a variety of bodies were installed on the car, which made it possible to perform various tasks.

Freight Gas-3307 is an innovative development of its time, which has gained great popularity, despite a number of shortcomings. The operation of the machine continues in our time. It is used on small farms, some construction sites. In villages and villages, when using a special body, they transport food and water on a truck.

You can buy a car in the secondary market. The total cost will depend on the year of manufacture, modification, technical and external conditions. The rent of Gas-3307 is widespread - about 6,000 rubles per day.
