Overall impression of the Taurus LOM-13
This type of weapon is the first smooth-bore revolver, which deserved great popularity in many countries of Europe and Asia, including Russia. Consumers love this weapon, which is loaded with 9 mm RA cartridges for its compactness, versatility, ease of use and reliability. In terms of speed and power, it is not inferior to the MP-79-9T, but it breaks down much less often, it does not need to constantly pick up the springs and cover up small indentations.
Any revolver has two drawbacks: it recharges much slower than a pistol, and also it cannot be installed on a safety catch, therefore you need to be careful with it in the room, but it’s better to put it in a special place for storage.
However, Brazilian engineers managed to solve both problems. Simplify recharging turned out with the help of replaceable clips for 5 rounds of 9 mm - that is, very little time is spent on loading, and the process, in general, is not troublesome. The role of the fuse here is a special mechanism, which, as mentioned above, is activated using a small key that comes with a weapon.
Traumatic revolver Taurus LOM-13 has incorporated all the best qualities of modern short-barreled weapons. Thus, it can be called, if not absolute, then one of the leaders in the category of secretive weapons. Due to all its positive qualities, this revolver has a good demand in the Russian market. For example, it is an excellent replacement for the popular EfE PB-4M, popularly referred to as OCA.
Reviews from owners of the revolver are positive in most cases. Of course, in accuracy it is unlikely to be compared with a rifled pistol, but for its category it shoots at an excellent level.
Nevertheless, it is worth noting that since June 30, 2011, this type of weapon is no longer imported into our country, so if you can buy it, then only with hands. It is classified as a firearm of limited defeat.
