The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation equips the ground forces with new Terminator tank support vehicles (BMPT). This year, 3,000 BMPTs have already been commissioned.
Until the end of the year, a large batch of new cars should go to the Guards Vitebsk-Novgorod twice Red Banner Tank Division.
The premiere of "Terminators" at military exercises is scheduled for next year at the ranges of the central military district. At the same time for the equipment will begin to supply intelligent ammunition with remote undermining.
The issues of development, creation and subsequent modernization of promising armored vehicles are entrusted to specialists of the Main Automobile and Armored Directorate of the Russian military department.
Currently, studies are underway to substantiate and develop tactical and technical requirements for Terminators, as well as to design a conceptual image of promising designs for a twenty-year period.
Terminator tank support combat vehicle is a highly protected combat tracked fire support system capable of solving a wide range of tasks. Its main advantage is considerable firepower. The BMPT armament includes two automatic cannons 2A42 with a 30-mm caliber, a 7.62-mm PKTM machine gun, an anti-tank missile system with a 9M120-1 Attack laser guidance system and two AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers. "Terminator" is able to successfully hit lightly armored vehicles and tanks, as well as with the means of military air defense to fight low-altitude low-speed air targets.
