Boeing put the last AWACS aircraft into NATO

The American concern Boeing completed the modification of 14 AWACS aircraft for NATO in Manching, Germany.

Concern Boeing announced that it had put the last airborne warning and control complex (AWACS) with modernized avionics and a digital cockpit into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

This delivery is the final of 14 machines. The upgrade includes the installation of five full-color digital displays on each aircraft, replacing the dials of the 1970s.

NATO's first modernized AWACS aircraft was modified at Boeing facilities in Seattle and delivered to NATO in November 2016. The remaining 13 aircraft were upgraded in Manching (Germany).
