TT-T - traumatic pristolet on the basis of combat TT

Wonderful springtime of 2011, for the first time, shoppers discovered new traumatic weapons on the shelves of gun shops, which turned out to be the name TT-T. This weapon was made on the basis of the popular combat TT, which is why people did not immediately decide to buy a new traumatic equipment at this base, as they were aware of the sad attempts from the past to adapt TT to traumatic charges. In fact, it turned out that a tolerable traumatic pistol turned out, which bypassed many popular models in its characteristics.

General information about the pistol TT-T

AKBS started manufacturing this port. To make this tool a success allowed the ingenuity of the designers, who made the minimum changes to the original mechanisms of TT. The TT-T traumatic pistol is of excellent quality and high reliability due to the fact that there is a minimum number of components that were made specifically for him from scratch.

We can say that everything here is left without any significant changes. Of course, due to the transfer of weapons to traumatic cartridges, the designers failed to keep the original scheme of the automation. Here the shutter works in a free mode, which, in principle, is found in all models of the traumatic weapon. The developers have resorted to such a step because the 10x28T cartridges used cannot provide the same power as the warheads, which is necessary for the correct operation of the native automation.

The designers have found a competent way out of this situation in order not to make serious changes to the design of the TT-T pistol. At the gate all the stops were removed, they were left on the barrel, and the barrel itself was rigidly fastened to the frame of the weapon.

With regard to the safety of this instrument with regular wear, first of all, you need to remember that it has assumed all the shortcomings of its base TT. The fuse is completely absent here, it was replaced by a safety platoon of the trigger, which will not be able to protect the owner from an accidental shot in the event of a fall.

You also need to remember that the pistol TT-T - this is not a new weapon, it is simply made on the basis of the old, at the same time, almost all original parts have been preserved. The trigger mechanism already has wear, which increases the likelihood of an accidental shot. For this reason, to carry such a weapon is not only forbidden to be charged at the legislative level, but also unsafe for the shooter himself, which must be remembered first of all.

The main attractiveness of this tool lies not only in its reliability, which it took from its foundation, but also that it has a great historical value. Since the stamps in the conversion of weapons into traumatics are not removed from the hull, it is possible to determine from them how long the gun has survived, what places it has visited, and much more. In fact, it’s not just a civilian self-defense pistol, but a whole piece of history.

AKBS were engaged in the conversion of TT production in 1933, but now, when the law was passed prohibiting the conversion of military weapons in the traumatic, the future of this line is unclear. However, their sale was not banned, so they can still be found in gun shops or purchased from someone with it.

It is possible that in the future AKBS will revive the TT-T traumatic pistol, inventing it anew, from scratch, but so that it corresponds to its progenitor TT. But, anyway, it will be a completely new, unique traumatic gun.

The design of the trunk TT-T

Our review will not do without talking about the barrel of a traumatic gun, because here he was awarded special attention. The fact is that, as a rule, when rebuilding a combat pistol into a traumatic one, instead of the original barrel, a tube of the desired diameter is installed, that is, the original barrel is completely replaced. The TT-T traumatic pistol was the first of its kind, where the original barrel, designed for the use of warheads, was left.

Of course, it didn’t do without any changes, otherwise the weapon would simply not have passed the necessary certification. To do this, a special pin was installed directly in front of the chamber, which covers the barrel bore for a third part. A special feature here is the proximity of the pin to the chamber. Since the bullet does not have time to gain speed when fired, a small load is applied to the pin, which reduces many times the possibility of its failure.

The grooves from the bore were also removed. Above this, the designers tried and did everything so well that re-polishing the bore after the purchase of the TT-T is not needed. Of course, at their own request, you can carry out polishing, but it will not affect the shooting. It can only be noted that the TT-T pistol will be easier to clean after use.

TT-T pistol ammunition

In the review we could not fail to mention the cartridges that are used when shooting this weapon. Here 10x28T cartridges are used, the production of which AKBS is also engaged in. At one time, they replaced the outdated 10x22. The main advantage of these charges is that they are similar in length to the 9x19 live ammunition. In the future, this may help significantly expand the number of versions of these charges.

These cartridges have a whole history of changes. Initially, they were a charge with a bullet ball far protruding from the liner. This design sometimes led to a problem with wedging during recharging.

In order to correct this deficiency, AKBS decided to do a strong rolling of the liner around the edges. Thus, thanks to the sloping edges, the problem with the supply of cartridges in the chamber was exhausted. However, this led to a decrease in the characteristics of charges and rupture of the edges of the liner.

In the end, the designers came to the most optimal option. They decided to return the old design of the sleeve, and put the bullet deeper into the body of the cartridge so that it does not protrude beyond the edges. Thus, problems with rupture of the edges of the liner and poor flow into the chamber were solved.

As for the quality of the charges themselves, it, like the rest of AKBS products, is at a high level. A TT-T pistol can get an increase in the power of 10x28T cartridges, if this is allowed at the legislative level, since their design completely allows for this. In addition, the power of the gun allows you to increase power, which was mentioned above, because it was originally intended for warheads.

Pros and cons of TT-T

In this review we will talk about the main pros and cons of these weapons, which every potential buyer should know about. What does it represent as a tool for self-defense, what advantages and disadvantages does it have?

First of all, the appearance. Yes, in fact, this gun is a complete copy of the combat TT. But he was known only in the distant 90s, when he could have any passerby. Then he would bring fear and horror to the opponents, but now he will not produce such an effect. The enemy will either immediately realize that this is a traumatic person, or even think that this is a mockup. Therefore, if necessary, you have to shoot accurately.

The quality of shooting can be safely attributed to the pluses of this weapon. Since 10x28T cartridges have good performance, plus they are always produced flawlessly AKBS, you can be sure about the high efficiency of each hitting the target. Of course, only a few layers of thick winter clothing will be able to protect the enemy.

The remaining advantages can be attributed to ease of maintenance, high-quality operation of all mechanisms, excellent reliability.

The negative points in the reviews include very controversial points, with the exception of one. The main disadvantage is the absence of a normal fuse. Without it, it is impossible to carry a charged TT-T, as in the case of a fall, it may accidentally shoot. It can happen in a crowded place, which will lead to the appearance of the injured party. Then you can not avoid problems with the law. The inability to charge the gun in advance is a significant disadvantage, since for its owner this can be a decisive moment in the event of an unexpected attack.

The remaining cons, which will be in this review, can be called individual. So, these include the impressive size of the gun. Of course, it is not huge, but it stands out against the background of other traumatic tools for self-defense. A person with a thin physique cannot be covertly wearing it, but a person with, for example, a sports body will be able to do it easily. Also, many experts highlight the weight of the weapon, which also stands out against the background of all Russian traumatic. But here, too, everything is purely individual. With regular wearing after 2-3 weeks the weight of the gun will not be felt.

The technical characteristics of this instrument are as follows:

  • Cartridges 10x28T;
  • 195 millimeters in length;
  • Barrel length - 116 millimeters;
  • 130 millimeters in height;
  • 28 millimeters wide;
  • The weight of the discharged implement is 850 grams;
  • Shop holds 8 rounds.

Finding a traumatic TT

First of all, this gun will be of interest to history buffs. Someone can once fall into the hands of a combat weapon, which, quite likely, participated in the war.

An excellent tool for self-defense TT-T will be for people with a large build who can not get used to the small traumatic pistols that they have to disassemble and assemble almost under a microscope. This tool is great for the big palm.

In general, summing up this review, this gun is a good tool for self-defense for any person, if you close your eyes to its size. It is easy to use, unpretentious to maintain and reliable. In addition, it has an average price, so anyone can afford it.
