The Russian military-industrial complex continues to work on the creation of new generation equipment, as well as developing more sophisticated models of small arms. This was recently said in an interview with journalists by the director of the enterprise TsNIITOCHMASH, which is working in this direction.
According to him, a set of new equipment can be ready in four or six years, and this will be a completely new development, using completely new technologies and materials. This is the so-called third-generation gear. It also became known that the company continues to develop a new sniper complex "Accuracy", which has already entered the stage of preliminary tests.
According to the developers, the main priorities when creating third-generation gear will be to increase the effectiveness of the soldier on the battlefield.
Outfit of the future
The modern equipment of the military man is a real high-tech complex, it includes a navigation system, personal protective equipment, communications, and new types of weapons. This is not a complete list. The equipment "Warrior", which is now coming into service, includes about fifty elements; the next generation equipment complex will probably include much more.
According to the head of TsNIITOCHMASH, Dmitry Semizorov, each equipment serves for about five to six years, then new technologies and materials appear and it becomes obsolete.
The official said that work is already underway today. Employees of the company are studying the experience gained in this direction by the developers of other countries. Particular attention is paid to the introduction of new materials to protect the soldier, as well as the use of modern developments in the field of navigation and communications.
The traditional outfit will remain in the new outfit, but it will probably be very different from the modern counterparts. It will be more actively used ceramics. The developers reported that Russian-made armor is already ready, but ceramic inserts have to be ordered from foreign manufacturers. The protection system of the new equipment will have to withstand a bullet from a Stechkin pistol almost to the stop. The bullet-proof vest of a new complex will be able to provide protection on level 6A.

Sniper rifle "Accuracy"
In addition to plans to create a new outfit, Semizorov shared information on the progress of work on a new sniper rifle, which should soon be in service with the airborne troops. This rifle has the symbolic name "Accuracy".
While the question of buying a rifle is not yet worth it, it is just undergoing a test phase. Representatives of the Airborne Forces said that "Accuracy" was tested in a variety of conditions and received a positive rating. Now new weapons are being finalized.
The weapon was developed by a private company that previously developed the T-5000 sniper rifle, which is considered one of the best Russian sniper systems. Most likely, this weapon will replace foreign rifles in domestic special units. One thing to remind about this weapon: it was with the T-5000 rifle in 2012 that the control team “A” of the CSF FSB became the best in the prestigious international competitions among snipers.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the sniper complex "Accuracy" has not yet been disclosed, but it is known that it will be similar to the T-5000.
