The Ka-52K helicopter was equipped with a "killer" ship rocket.

Russian designers of modern ammunition adapted the Kh-35U air-to-surface guided missile for use from a helicopter.

Aviation means of defeating surface targets were included in the nomenclature of airborne armament of the Ka-52K "Katran" marine attack helicopter.

With the adoption of a modern anti-ship missile deployed on a rotorcraft with the highest tactical and technical characteristics, the Russian Navy gets a significant advantage over the likely adversary in a potential confrontation at sea.

The capabilities of our fleet will increase many times with the commissioning of future helicopter carriers, whose presence in the Baltic, Mediterranean and Black Seas is simply necessary when the naval forces of the NATO North Atlantic are active in these areas.

According to the description of the anti-ship guided missile, its purpose is to defeat surface targets with a displacement of up to 5 thousand tons. The maximum flight range is about 260 km.

To integrate the rocket into the rotorcraft’s armament, the Kamov specialists installed a new Hermes-A armament control system on board.

In addition to the Ka-52 Qatran helicopter, the Kh-35U’s carriers can use the Su-27, Su-30SM, Su-35 and MiG-29 multifunctional fighters, as well as Su-34 front-line bombers.
