Deputy Minister of Defense A. Krivoruchko during his working trip to Voronezh at the VASO Aviation Plant made a statement that the first flight of the Il-112 military transporter will occur before February 2019.
"This aircraft is required in the armed forces, in the near future, this type of equipment will begin to leave the flight operation. This will happen because their flight resource is coming to an end. And we are waiting for this new aircraft. I hope its first flight will take place in a month" - said A. Krivoruchko.
In the near future, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will purchase two machines for testing, and only after that the contract for the supply of the first two machines will be discussed, which will also be used to carry out inspections of this aircraft ...
The Deputy Minister expressed confidence that the issue of production time will be resolved positively, despite the existence of serious problems. The work is not easy, there are a number of serious problems. At the same time, there is an understanding that all these tasks can be solved and there is hope that the Ilyushin team will be able to solve all the tasks facing it, A. Krivoruchko stressed.
According to him, the mass production and supply of new equipment to the troops will begin only after all the requirements of the Ministry of Defense have been fulfilled.
What is this aircraft built for?
The Il-112V is the first military transport vehicle that was designed in the Russian Federation after the collapse of the USSR. Work on the creation of this aircraft began in 2014. This aircraft is designed to replace outdated AN-26. Half of the fleet of these cars until 2030 should be decommissioned, and 90% - until 2032.
Today, the first IL-122 has already been transferred to the flight test station of the Voronezh Aviation Enterprise. The aircraft conducts airfield mining, the results of which will make a decision about the readiness of the machine for the first flight.
In addition, the aircraft components are being sent to TsAGI. Zhukovsky to install them on test benches and conduct a series of resource tests.
