The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation unified the work of military structures with information carriers. Previously, each unit itself decided how to protect electronic versions of secret documents, but now this issue has been addressed at the very top of the national armed forces.
Not so long ago, all military personnel who had access to classified information were given special flash drives. Each of them has its own identification number and is protected from accidental data leakage.
For each such USB flash drive, a soldier is personally liable, almost like losing a weapon in peacetime. From disciplinary punishment and resignation to imprisonment for divulging state secrets.
Flash drives are divided by the level of secrecy. Some of them are “for official use only”, others are “top secret”. The former are blue, the latter red. Accordingly, to find out about what is on the flash drive, it is necessary to insert a computer and dial a special personal code. Of course, every case of using a flash drive in a computer is fixed. This will allow later, in case of an emergency, to establish who, when and where sent the data.
Despite the fact that the responsibility for access to such flash drives is high, experts do not exclude the possibility that information leakage may occur due to human factors. Therefore, the main thing in this situation is still working with people, nurturing patriotism and decency in them.
