Recall that in the middle of last November, Hamas from the Gaza Strip released 460 unguided rockets in Israel in one day. Israel used the Iron Dome missile defense system to repel a missile strike. The Israeli Defense Ministry believes that laser anti-missile systems will effectively complement the capabilities of the Iron Dome batteries, significantly reducing the response time to the start of a missile strike.
By the way, in 2015, Israel had already demonstrated the options for a mobile combat laser system called the “Iron Ray”. However, at that moment they had little interest in the military. It is not excluded that in the newly very dangerous situation the Israeli Ministry of Defense will pay attention to the developments of the military-industrial complex of the country three years ago.
According to the developers, "Iron Beam" is a set of emitters mounted inside standard cargo containers and mounted on cargo chassis. The complex includes a radar station, a control point and two laser systems with a capacity of several tens of kilowatts each.
