Germany is building the latest Braunschweig type corvettes

In Germany, the construction of the corvettes of the K130 project (of the Braunschweig type) for the German Navy began in the Lemverder shipyards. This is the second series of vessels of this type. In total there will be five of them. The first corvette to be built will be Köln. According to the plan, it should be handed over to tests in August 2022 and handed over to the German fleet in November 2022.

According to the German Ministry of Defense, five corvettes for the country's naval forces will cost the state treasury 2 billion euros. And taking into account the supplies for the corvettes of weapons and equipment purchased by the German government separately, the total cost of the program to build the second series of five corvettes of the K130 project will exceed 2.5 billion euros.

Corvettes of the second series will receive the historical names of German cities for the German fleet - Köln, Emden, Karlsruhe, Augsburg and Lübeck.
