A prototype of a promising long-range bomber will be assembled in Kazan

In the Tupolev military aircraft company, they have long been thinking about creating a promising long-range aviation complex (PAK DA). All design documentation has already been transferred to the Kazan Aviation Plant. Building a prototype bomber new generation will begin in the coming months.

The new PAK DA should replace the current "Tupolev" Tu-160, Tu-95 and Tu-22M3 bombers. The strategic bomber-rocket carrier of the new generation will be made according to the aerodynamic configuration of a “flying wing”, without a tail unit. In addition, stealth technology will be used to create it.

In general, the new aircraft should carry as many weapons as possible, be invisible and use any airfields.

PAK YES will be subsonic and will be able to carry more payload than the Tu-160. But he will have hypersonic weaponry, including air-to-air defense missiles. This will allow him to fly unaccompanied.

It is planned that the first prototype will be ready in the interval between 2021 and 2022, and will rise into the air no later than 2026.
