The deployment of the new assembly platform of the Mi-8AMT helicopters will increase the growth of the competitive ability of this product. The new production will be deployed on the basis of a contract signed between Aircraft Repair Plant 405 and the National Company Kazakhstan Engineering. During the execution of this agreement, an enterprise will be formed that will carry out a large-assembly assembly of helicopters in Kazakhstan.
As part of the agreements between the parties, the Mi-8AMT / Mi-171 helicopter will be assembled at this enterprise. At one time it was modernized in accordance with the wishes of the Kazakh side. In addition, it is assumed that a system will be created that supports the product life cycle.
Within the boundaries of this contract, the Russian side will supply 45 sets of equipment necessary for the assembly of finished products. Shipment will be made until 2020.
It is necessary to separately note that as a result of this maneuver, it makes sense to expect the growth of the popularity of Russian helicopters in the Asian markets - although they have already shown themselves to be simple and reliable aircraft that can be operated in difficult conditions.
The beginning of the assembly of the product in Kazakhstan will provide a logistical advantage in the form of lowering the costs of delivering helicopters to the consumer and ultimately make it more accessible to the buyer. In addition, it is impossible not to take into account the fact that a rather large demand for this helicopter exists in Kazakhstan itself. Already today about 200 Russian helicopters are in operation there.
