PTS-4 is the newest Russian floating conveyor. It consists entirely of domestic components. It is intended for transportation by water of personnel, artillery systems, wheeled and tracked vehicles and other goods. PTS-4 was developed in 2009–2011. PTS-4 was created to replace the outdated floating conveyors PTS-2 and PTS-3, produced in 1970-1980s at the Lugansk Diesel-Locomotive Plant based on the nodes of the T-64 tank. The machine is heavier than its predecessor (PTS-3) by 8 tons due to an increase in payload capacity and a bulletproof reservation of the headquarters.
