India purchased Apache and Chinook from USA

Back in 2015, India signed a contract with the United States for the supply of 22 Apache attack helicopters and 15 Chinook transport helicopters. And the first four transport workers have already arrived at the port of Mundra. Further, their path lies in the state of Chandigarh.

In total, according to the contract signed by the two countries in 2015, 22 “Apache” and 15 “Chinook” should arrive in India. The first assault, the second transport. The contract price is 3.1 billion dollars.

The Apache acquisition project was a combination of direct commercial contracts and procurement under the Foreign Military Sales program. CH-47F purchased under a direct commercial contract with Boeing. It was assumed that deliveries will begin within 36-38 months from the date of signing the agreement, that is, until December 2018.

The contract for the purchase of CH-47F Chinook includes an option to supply seven additional machines. In accordance with the terms of sale, Boeing will ensure the fulfillment of offset agreements in an amount equal to 30% of the sale price.

India became the 19th country to adopt the CH-47 Chinook.

CH-47F "Chinook" - American heavy military transport helicopter longitudinal scheme. Replaced in the US Army helicopter CH-54, operated since the early 1960s. In addition to the United States, it was produced in Italy in 1970 (more than 200 helicopters) and in Japan (Kawasaki produced 54 helicopters).
