The channel of the Lao Armed Forces on YouTube video hosting recently demonstrated the story of how three Yak-130 combat training aircraft with tail numbers 044, 045, 046 landed at the airport of Vientiane located not far from the page of Laos.
At the Singapore Airshow 2016 Aviation Show, the Lao side expressed interest in acquiring Yak-130 aircraft manufactured in Russia. These are double training and combat jet vehicles designed for training pilots, technicians and solving combat missions.
Laos is interested in acquiring this car, because it will close the gap, which was formed after the decommissioning of the outdated MiG-21, which had been supplied from the USSR back in the 70s of the last century, with minimal costs.
Volume of purchases of Russian aviation equipment
Laos can acquire 16 - 20 aircraft. The contract will include the delivery of additional equipment, airborne armament and spare parts. In addition, flight training and technical training will be organized.
Today, the Lao Air Force has 25 MiG-21 fighters, but most of them are not suitable for flight work.
The first Yak-130 arrived in Laos on December 20 last year. He was delivered by a cargo IL-76 belonging to the Russian airline Aviakon Tsitotrans.
