Russian armored vehicles will switch to 57 mm automatic guns

In the near future, promising Russian armored personnel carriers will be equipped with a new 57 mm automatic cannon. This is reported in the thematic collection "Rocket-technical and artillery-technical support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - 2018".

For the first time, the change of guns on combat armored vehicles began at the turn of the century. It was then decided to conduct tests on a light tank PT-76. It was decided to replace his old 76-mm cannon with a combat module with a 57-mm machine gun.

According to experts, the use of such weapons significantly increases the possibility of destruction of the armored moving objects of the enemy. The 57-mm projectile can strike modern tanks into side projections from a distance of 1000 meters, and armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles from a distance of two and a half kilometers.

In addition, military air defense should seriously strengthen the adoption of the self-propelled 2S38 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun from the artillery complex "Derivation-Air Defense", capable of shooting down armored attack aircraft, cruise missiles and miniature drones with its 57 mm gun

And, of course, that such a gun will be armed with a promising infantry fighting vehicle T-15 "Armata".
