In the People's Republic of China, work is under way to build heavy aircraft carriers. According to the plans, four nuclear aircraft carriers will be built. Construction of another is already underway. And one more - “Liaoning”, already in the ranks. All aircraft carriers will be equipped with electromagnetic catapults to launch aircraft.
According to Chinese military experts, nuclear aircraft carriers will be part of the fleet, at the latest in 2035, increasing the total number of aircraft carriers to at least six; although only four of them will be at the forefront.
The construction of these aircraft carriers in the future should equalize China in terms of the power of the AUG with the US Navy.
However, in Hong Kong they note that China will face a serious problem - personnel one. The officers of the US Navy have extensive experience in the conduct of hostilities, but the Chinese commanders have no such experience.
