The world at the start of the arms race

Apparently, the world once again embarked on the path of the arms race. The other day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia was starting work on a medium-range missile.

As the Deputy Minister noted, the United States also began developing missiles of such a range.

Recall that on February 1, 2019, US President Donald Trump announced that Washington was withdrawing from the INF Treaty, and on February 2, 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a decision on the mirror measures of Moscow on this matter.

Ryabkov recalled that the Russian president said: Moscow will not deploy medium and short-range missiles anywhere else until American missiles appear there. Therefore, the security of Europe and the United States themselves depend on Washington.

At the same time Ryabkov clarified that Moscow is ready to discuss the proposals of Washington, if they do. Russia has already provided the United States with a number of its proposals on how to get out of the current difficult situation. However, the American side does not yet show interest and has no desire for dialogue.
