The landing system "Bakhcha" will ensure reliable landing of equipment with paratroopers inside from the air.
Remember, in the Hollywood film "The Alpha Team, reckless American commandos, parachuting from a plane in a tank, flew several kilometers on it, and landed heading straight into the battle? Who didn’t watch - I recommend. The film is wonderful, but its special charm is that the Americans do it in the cinema, and the Russian paratroopers - for real.
Speaking on the case, the airborne troops of Russia began to receive a free-form landing system "Bakhcha-U-PDS". Its use will allow heavy armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles to be dropped from the sky with a landing force inside.
It is noteworthy that "Bakhcha" - the brainchild of Soviet designers and inventors. The first theoretical developments in line with this concept date back to 1983. At that time, the free-form system was “sharpened” by amphibious assault vehicles, which constantly, with each upgrade, “gained weight”. If BMD-1 weighed about 5 tons, then BMD-2 is already 7. Therefore, the requirements for "Bakhche" all increased and increased.
As a result, the development continued until the collapse of the USSR, and since then, for a time, they subsided. Like, why are there such difficulties when the airborne forces have multi-dome platform systems - few of them, perhaps?
Practice has shown that yes, this is not enough.
The first practical test of a BMD-3 emission with a full crew took place only in 1998. It was made 25 sets of "Bakhchi". But here again, the landing machines were upgraded: the BMD-4M and the BTR-MDM "Shell" appeared. The first one, by the way, weighs no less - as much as 14 tons, while the "Shell" - more than 13 tons.
The last modification "Bakhchi" has several components: suspension, parachute, depreciation. Eleven domes with an area of each 350 square meters provide stabilization in the air. The introduction of air in the “pressurization” depreciation system has become innovative: before landing under the bottom of the BMP, the depreciation platform is inflated. The “Bakhcha-U-PDS” system allows the car to be on the ground within 45 seconds after being dropped, and proceed to the task.
In addition, "Bakhcha-U-PDS" has reduced the height of the landing of heavy vehicles. Previously, the minimum height was half a kilometer. With a new strapdown system, you can land armored vehicles from 400 meters. Moreover, it allows you to parachute heavy equipment with a full landing force inside. And the lack of a platform allows you to start taking action immediately after landing.
"Bakhcha-U-PDS" has already begun to arrive in the landing troops of Russia. It is noteworthy that such a system is still not available to anyone in the world.
