Flying Assistant to Russian armored vehicles

The newest unmanned reconnaissance vehicle created at the Moscow Aviation Institute will help increase the crew’s view of Russian tanks and various types of armored vehicles. Communication with ground equipment is carried out by means of a cable with good strength and flexibility. In the same way, he receives power from the machine, transmitting all the information in encrypted form to the monitors of the crew in the cockpit.

"A tethered aircraft created by us with the participation of colleagues from Moscow State Technical University will become a modern observation point with great endurance indicators. An unmanned aerial vehicle operated by a crew can rise above the machine to a height of 30 meters. Video information is being transmitted that can significantly expand the field of view of any crew members. With this development, you can quickly find the enemy by pointing a weapon at him with great accuracy "- informs P IA News, referring to Professor Nikolai Kim. He is the head of the research laboratory of the department "Information-controlled complexes" of the Moscow Aviation Institute.

He made it clear that at the moment this development of Russian engineers is constantly being finalized. Ways to adapt these unmanned aerial vehicles to various types of military armored vehicles are being studied and explored. For example, such a tracking system is planned to be installed on a modern Armata tank in the future, but specific dates are not yet known. Specialists still have a lot of work to do: the development of high-quality software and the preparation of hardware for armored vehicles is required.

"At the disposal of the armed forces of the Russian Federation there are already about 2 thousand different unmanned vehicles," said Major General Alexander Novikov. Even separate military units and subunits working with unmanned aerial vehicles that are part of the special forces of the armed forces of the Russian Federation are being formed. The use of unmanned vehicles will increase the capabilities of the army, especially in the field of aerial reconnaissance.
