On IL-38 "Novella" will install modern electronics

The Russian Navy is preparing to receive a modified anti-submarine IL-38N "Novella". Modern electronic equipment will be installed on it and it will receive new anti-ship missiles for service. This was reported in the General Staff of the Russian Navy.

The decision to produce this air hunter for submarines was made after analyzing the results of military operations in Syria. In the course of which, these submarine seekers could not always find American submarines. The airborne systems installed on these aircraft will be replaced by new ones.

Total modifications will undergo 25 aircraft of this type. The update program of these machines has been running for 15 years.

IL-38N aircraft will be equipped with new hydroacoustic buoys and Kh-35 anti-ship missiles.
