Saiga NATO rifle 308

Saiga 308-1 is an analogue of the famous AK-74M assault rifle, adapted for rifle-caliber cartridge (NATO charges .308win (7.62х51). The gun has a practical design, high strength and a large working resource reserve.

Saigi device MK 308-1

The developers did not come up with something new and made the carbine simple, understandable and reliable. The recharge occurs in automatic mode due to the energy of the powder gases and the energy of the return spring. When firing gases from the bore fall into the gas chamber. The channel is locked in the usual way for many hunters - by turning the bolt around its axis.

The trigger type trigger, bore and chamber are protected by a chrome-plated compound.

Installation of an optical sight is possible. Standard sighting mechanisms allow firing at a distance of 300 meters. Some versions of the gun are equipped with a cheek on the butt for comfortable shooting. It has two positions: for an optical sight and for open sighting mechanisms.

Specifications:

  • Used for firing charges .308win;
  • Barrel length 555 millimeters;
  • The total length of 1,125 millimeters;
  • Mass of discharged weapons 4.1 kilograms;
  • The magazine holds 8 rounds;
  • Effective range up to 300 meters.

The muzzle of a weapon is presented in several types on different versions at the buyer's choice: a short conical flame arrester, an elongated cylindrical flame arrester, or its complete absence.

For ease of transport and storage, you can choose a version with a removable butt. It is removed very simply due to the lock located in the rear of the receiver.

Device

The energy of the return spring acts on the slide frame and the bolt, as a result of which they begin to move forward. At the same time, filing the cartridge in the chamber.

Pressing the trigger activates the movement of the trigger under the influence of the mainspring. He strikes a blow at the drummer - a shot takes place. Powder gases affect the bolt and bolt carrier, they begin to move backwards. At this time, removing the cartridge case from the cartridge chamber and removing it from the receiver at the expense of the reflector.

The sear captures the trigger and cocks it out due to the impact of the return spring. Having reached the rearmost position, the return spring starts to affect the gate and the slide frame, starting their movement to the frontmost position. At the same time, a new cartridge is seized from the store and sent to the chamber.

Safety rules for the operation of Saiga MK 308-1

  • Do not aim your shotgun at people;
  • Remember that the range of a bullet is 3 kilometers;
  • The barrel of the carbine in the process of reloading and discharging should be directed away from people;
  • Before reloading, make sure that there are no small objects in the barrel channel and the chamber;
  • In the event of a misfire, do not open the shutter for 3 minutes, as a “protracted” shot may occur;
  • After shooting, be sure to put the weapon on the fuse;
  • You can not detach the butt from the gun when there are charges in the chamber;
  • At the end of the shooting the karabiner must be unloaded;
  • Cartridges are recommended to be stored separately from the gun.

Preparing Saiga MK 308-1 for shooting

Before shooting with a carbine you need:

  • If the bore and chamber are covered with grease or carbon from gunpowder, they must be wiped dry with a soft cloth;
  • Check the trigger and fuse;
  • Check the reliability of the latch on several stores;
  • To make a descent to evaluate the performance of the gun and its moving parts.

Fuse operation

  • The fuse is activated by moving it to the upper position "S". This blocks the trigger;
  • Switching off the fuse carries it to the lower position "F".

Loading and shooting

  • The magazine is detached from the weapon by moving down and forward immediately after pressing the latch;
  • The store is filled with cartridges. This should be done carefully and slowly: each charge should be under the flap, tight to the back of the store;
  • The store joins the carbine;
  • The fuse is deactivated. Now it should be in the lower position "F";
  • The bolt is retracted to the rear end position and released. It should move to the extreme front position;
  • The sighting mechanism is set in the desired position: "1" - 100 meters to the target, "2" - 200 meters and "3" - 300 meters.

After that, the carbine is ready to fire. When the cartridges in the store run out, the shutter will remain in the front position.

Incomplete disassembly of the carbine

Incomplete disassembly is made to inspect the condition of all components, cleaning and lubricating weapons. This ensures its stable operation and prolongs its service life. The order of incomplete disassembly is as follows:

  • Make sure the weapon is unloaded. After removing the magazine, you need to take the bolt to the rear position and check if there is a charge in the chamber;
  • Remove the optics, if installed, following the instructions for using the sight;
  • Remove the receiver cover and return mechanism. To do this, you need to drown the protrusion of the return mechanism, clutching the back of the cover with your right hand, and pull it up, then remove the cover from the carabiner backwards. After that, the return mechanism is removed;
  • Remove bolt carrier with bolt. The frame must be pulled to the rearmost position and removed together with the bolt, pointing it upwards from the receiver;
  • Remove the bolt with bolt carrier. Holding the head of the shutter, it must be rotated counterclockwise until the bolt diaphragm disengages from the figured groove of the frame;
  • Remove the gas tube. Handguards need to be removed if it needs to be repaired or cleaned. To remove the forearm, loosen the fastening screw with a simple screwdriver and separate it forward;
  • Remove the butt. It is dismantled using the lock.

Incomplete disassembly should be carried out carefully and carefully so as not to damage the component arms. It enters the process of complete disassembly, which we will discuss below.

Complete disassembly of the carbine

To complete disassembly, gun owners resort in several cases. In case of severe contamination and any damage, if necessary, drying the nodes after strong exposure to moisture and when the weapon is put on long-term storage. The procedure for complete disassembly is as follows:

  • Completely incomplete disassembly, following the above algorithm;
  • Disassemble the bolt in accordance with the instructions that come with the carbine;
  • Disassemble the store, as indicated in the documentation provided with the gun.

Complete disassembly is a painstaking and responsible process. Beginners are not recommended to conduct it alone. To gain experience, it is better to ask for help from professional shooters or hunters with great experience.

Cleaning and lubrication tools

The quality of work and the overall life of the Saiga 308-1 depends on proper care. To maximize the service life, you need to regularly clean and lubricate within 24 hours after each shooting. This should be done at a temperature of 15-25 degrees Celsius. In winter, it is recommended to maintain the carbine in the room, and only when the gun warms up to room temperature.

Cleaning occurs according to the following algorithm:

  • The barrel bore and chamber are greased with a small brush that is pre-moistened and pressed in the gun oil;
  • After completing the lubrication, the bore must be wiped dry by wiping it with a wiping material;
  • The lubrication process is repeated 8-10 times, until all carbon deposits are removed;
  • After removing the soot, the bore and chamber should be lubricated with clean gun oil.

Conclusion

Saiga-308 M has good accuracy and accuracy, is reliable and unpretentious in care, and therefore enjoys good demand in foreign arms markets. Carabiner is great for hunting small and large animals and birds in almost any climatic conditions.
