The newest artillery 120-mm complex "Phlox" includes the capabilities of a cannon and mortar, using the vehicle base "Ural" with good terrain performance. Previously, self-propelled installations of this caliber were not produced, which will later replace already older instruments of a similar design. The development of this project involved the Nizhny Novgorod Central Research Institute "Petrel". The photos were presented on the Facebook page of the state secretary of the UVZ Aleksey Zharich.

Some system indicators
The newest complex "Phlox" will be equipped with special protection in the form of a combat module, equipped with a large-caliber machine gun "Kord". To counteract a guided weapon, a system is used that detects laser radiation and interferes with the opposing side.
This development can fire from a cannon, covering several kilometers, and the mortar is suitable for firing on hilly and mountainous terrain. There are large ranges of targeting angles, which will allow to carry out aimed shots at a distance of 10 kilometers or at targets that are only a hundred meters from the combat position.
The project was first shown at the international military-technical forum "Army-2016", held in the park "Patriot". In the same place it became known and the additional tasks performed by the complex:
- transfer and receipt of information between machines;
- preparation of data to calculate the exact shooting parameter;
- various shooting adjustments;
- switching various means of guidance;
- storage in memory of up to 30 targets with the ability to switch between them.
