The Russian Federation has firmly secured the second line on the planet in the field of arms supplies. In the past year, the government sold machinery abroad for $ 15.13 billion, $ 2 billion more than the year before. If it were not for the failing test of the newest ship "Vikramaditya" for the Indian Navy and the postponement of its delivery to the middle of the autumn period of 2013, the export supply of Russian weapons would easily outbid the $ 17.4 billion mark.
And although in this figure, the Russian arms sector is more than 3 times behind its American rival, each year the growth rates of export weapons and the overfulfilment of the annual plan cannot but please the administration of the Ministry of Defense and the Government of Moscow.
The losses for the Russian equipment of Libya, the frozen agreements with the Iranian state and the Syrian republic have not been able to influence the growth of the weapons sector at the moment: the advanced states, frightened by the permanent Arab revolutionary meetings, began to increase the purchase of weapons. The defense expenditures on the acquisition of weapons of the Russian Federation continue to be increased by the authorities of India and China, Algeria, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Indonesia are considered to be Russia's largest partners. Within the framework of the past year, the consumer base of Russian weapons was replenished with Azerbaijan, Iraq and even America, which plans to pay for the purchase of 70 helicopter machines with Mi-15 markings for the Afghan troops.
The report of the research department of the Congress of America states that lately the government of the Russian Federation has significantly adapted itself to flexible work with consumers, emphasizing the offer of favorable conditions for the transfer of funds, loans and offsets. The report also reports on the readiness of the Russian government to sign licensing agreements on the manufacture of weapons to the most important markets in India and China. At the same time, however, it is said about the associated risks, among which is the reverse engineering practiced in the PRC and copying foreign weapons. The “pirate” motifs inherent in the Chinese military industrial complex are no longer surprising. 5 years ago, for example, the People's Republic of China set up a production J-16 aircraft, the model of which was copied from the SU-30MK2 of the Russian Federation, acquired in the late 2000s. Prior to this, the Chinese military sector not only set up serial production of similar models of the Su-27 and Su-33, but also managed to launch the Shenzhou spacecraft, repeating the design and equipment of the domestic Union.
In the past year, the leadership of the Russian Defense Export concluded an agreement to supply 52 transport helicopters with a Mi-171E marking for $ 600 million to China. This will probably be a one-time transportation, if we take into account the fact that the Chinese forces are already full Copies of European and domestic helicopters.
Which of the Russian weapons has increased demand? To deal with this issue, Forbes analysts studied the statistics for 2008 to 2012.
