Concern "Kalashnikov" started testing equipment and equipment, designed to conduct combat operations in extremely low temperatures. The project was named "Nanook". The equipment is tested in three autonomous districts of the north of Russia: Khanty-Mansiysk, Yamalo-Nenets and Taimyr.
The tests took place at a temperature of minus 47 degrees Celsius, wind speeds of about 25 m / s and humidity rapidly approaching 100%.
According to the developers, all the elements of equipment and workwear for the first tests showed their effectiveness by 80%. At the moment, we are working on the mistakes and wishes of the military.
In turn, the leadership of the Kalashnikov concern noted that they are ready to offer accumulated experience for solving security problems in the Arctic for both military and civilian targets.
By the way, the tested equipment of the warrior of the north consists of more than 40 component parts. In particular, a set of clothes "Nanuk", a snowmobile, a sleeping system "3 in 1", an arctic tent, transport containers to ensure the safety of medical supplies, communications, food rations and much more.
