The United States moved to a decisive step of desperate nature. Namely, they said they would not sell the Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Turkey if Ankara acquired the Russian Triumph S-400. And in addition to all of the above, they added another elegant method of blackmail - they promised to disrupt the deal to sell F-35 fighter-bombers to Turkey.
According to experts, in this matter one can understand the categorical and anxiety of the American side. Washington is worried that the simultaneous presence of Russian C-400 and American F-35s in Turkey will give Russia the opportunity to study in detail the characteristics of new-made aircraft manufactured overseas.
Recall that at the end of last year it became known that the US State Department approved the sale of Patriot missiles to Turkey in the amount of $ 3.5 billion. However, Turkey decided to take from the rival superpowers all the best. She officially announced that she is ready to buy Patriot systems - but in no way subject to the simultaneous abandonment of the C-400.
As previously reported, Turkey acquires four C-400 divisions from Russia, the amount of the contract is $ 2.5 billion.
