MC-255 is the dream of many hunters. Weapons are not cheap, and skeptics believe that the manufacturer significantly overestimates the price. This model was developed by the Tula Central Design and Research Bureau (TsKIB), whose engineers have extensive experience in developing sports and hunting weapons. Gun MTs-255 appeared in the late 90s of the last century, it is released in several versions, differing in caliber: 12, 20, 28, 32 and .410.

The mass of the drum and the return spring inspire fears that it will be very difficult to lower the hook when firing with the self-cocked - however, in practice everything turns out to be different. The descent is very soft, does not require much effort.
Having got used to this weapon, it is possible to conduct effective self-platoon shooting, but to achieve maximum accuracy, experts recommend using the manual cocking mode. Of course, with enough experience shooting from hunting rifles.

The basic version of this model has a wooden forend and butt, mostly painted in a brownish-chocolate color. Because of this, it is not immediately possible to identify the wooden texture of these parts. For ease of grip, the forearm and pistol grip have small notches that prevent the gun from sliding during firing. To reduce the impact on the butt has a shock absorber made of rubber.

Main advantages:

- Long shot. In case of a misfire of the cartridge, you need to wait 5-10 seconds. There are situations when, after a misfire, the cartridge still shoots. If you lower the drum to another charge, a shot may occur inside the drum and seriously damage the weapon;
- Loose spring. Achieving a gentle descent when firing by self-coaxing was achieved by loosening the recoil spring. Because of this, sometimes the cartridge primer is not broken;
- Small ammunition. For someone, 5 rounds in the drum is very small.
The disadvantages of MC-255 are not critical and fade amid the advantages of this gun.
Modifications MTs-255
As already mentioned, this weapon is made in different versions, adapted to the special calibers of ammunition:
- MTs-255-12 is the largest rifle in this line, charges of 12 gauge are used for firing. It is recommended to use cartridges 12/70, the use of cartridges "Magnum" 12/76 is strictly prohibited. This gun is sold complete with interchangeable choke tubes;
- MTs-255-20 is the most popular modification among the whole family. Due to the smaller caliber, the drum is less bulging, and the recoil and weight of the implement is reduced. For firing, you can use charges of 20/70, which are not much inferior in power to 12/70, there are variations of this modification, shooting with 20/76 Magnum cartridges. - MTs-255-28 is an extremely rare modification that is very difficult to find on the shelves of gun shops. Used for shooting ammunition 28 gauge. The length of the weapon is similar to the previous version;
- MTs-255-32 is also a rare modification that is easier to buy under the order, rather than to find in the store. For shooting charges are used 32-caliber. The length of the barrel is 560/705 millimeters, and the total length - 920/1065 millimeters;
- MTs-255-410 is a version of MTs-255, in which .410 caliber cartridges are used. This option is also very common among hunting enthusiasts. Shooting bullets shows good accuracy and accuracy.
