Domestic law enforcement agencies are actively rearming. In recent years, dozens of new types of military equipment have been commissioned: tanks, armored personnel carriers, helicopters, and cars. Some new items have become the subject of widespread discussion and cause for heated debate on the Internet. A few years ago, President Putin was shown an amazing armored car that simultaneously resembled a Batman vehicle and a fantastic armored car from computer shooters. Naturally, he immediately attracted the attention of lovers of military and automotive vehicles. An even larger “HYIP” gave rise to the severe name of the car - “The Punisher”.
In the minds of most of our citizens, this word is associated primarily with anti-partisan barracks and thugs in the form of the color "feldgrau" with "Schmeisers." This development is still a secret one, so there is very little official information about the design and characteristics of the armored car, which further increases the number of conjectures. Photos of the "Punisher" periodically appear on the Internet, taken in different regions of Russia: it has already been seen in the Crimea and Tatarstan, there is information about the baptism of battle that the car took in Dagestan. We will try to systematize all the available data about this interesting project.
Who developed the Punisher armored car?
Different information circulates on the Internet regarding the creators of the "Punisher", which further confuses the situation around the project. Some sources indicate that this is a development of KAMAZ, in others they claim that the car was designed in Moscow ZiL, other companies are also called.
In fact, the creation of an armored car began in 2008 at the ZIL plant together with the company Fort Technology, which specializes in the manufacture of elements of armor protection. Initially, this project was led by designer Svyatoslav Sahakyan. There is information that the technical assignment for the creation of a car of the "Punisher" type ZIL received in 2002 from the Ministry of Defense. In the future, the project of the armored car turned completely to the "Fort Technology", which managed to interest the CSN FSB. By the way, the second name of this armored car is "Falkatus".
The Kama Automobile Plant is also directly related to the “Punisher”, for the first prototype, which appeared in 2010, was created on the KAMAZ-4911 chassis, well known to the public due to its participation in the Paris-Dakar rally.
After the appearance of the first photos of the "Punisher" in the network, users noticed a significant similarity of the armored car with the car from the game Arma 3. And this is true. The first images of "The Punisher" were laid out in 2012, and the shooter was released only in 2013. So this game designers borrowed the look of a brutal armored car from ZiL, and not vice versa.
In April of this year, the "Punisher" for the first time took part in a special operation that took place in the Dagestan settlement Leninkent. Video, which captured the car, can be seen on YouTube.
Description of the structure and main characteristics
The machine is still secret, so there is little information about the features of its design. "The Punisher" is designed to transport special forces soldiers, and the soldiers in the landing compartment are placed back to back, which provides them with a circular view and the ability to fire through the loopholes. In addition, the car is equipped with a system of six cameras that allow you to assess the environment under adverse weather conditions and at night. Armor "Punisher" corresponds to the sixth class. The suspension and the bottom of the machine are protected from mine hazards. It is reported that the total weight of the car is 12 tons.
The door design is very original: each of them consists of an upper and lower leaf. In this case, the latter performs the functions of the step when landing.
