Mass production of these weapons began in 1993 at the Tula Arms Plant. The well-known carbine MC 20-01 was taken as a basis, therefore some nodes of Toz-106 coincide with the design of this tool.
Toz-106 - smooth-bore carbine. Its distinguishing feature is a very short stem. The gun is equipped with a folding butt. It folds under the barrel, rotating on a hinge, located in the rear of the receiver. As mentioned above, the model uses 20-gauge cartridges. Standard store Toz-106 holds 2 20/70 cartridges, there is an option for 4 charges.
Due to its size, this weapon is preferable for self-defense. It is quickly taken to the ready, it is convenient to carry it in a bag. 20-caliber cartridges demonstrate excellent power at close ranges, especially ammunition with canister or shotgun.

The rifle butt is made of durable corrosion-resistant weapon steel. You can shoot a gun only with the butt folded down. There are two fuses: automatic and mechanical. Automatic eliminates the possibility of accidentally pressing the trigger, mechanical made in the form of a simple slider located on the tail of the receiver behind the bolt. This tool works on the principle of manual reloading, carried out with the help of a longitudinally sliding gate. Turning the bolt handle upward cocks the mainspring. Such a system eliminates the possibility of an involuntary shot, if the charge is already in the chamber. Before shooting, you need to bring the bolt to the top position, and then release it down.
The box Toz-106 is made of wood and is an integral part. On the bed is the handguard and pistol grip.

Preparation for shooting occurs according to the following algorithm:
- A magazine with cartridges is installed in the magazine receiver, located in front of the trigger guard;

When the bolt passes over the magazine, it pushes the cartridge over the edge of the sleeve. When the extreme forward position is reached, charge is sent to the chamber. The barrel bore is locked with two bolt lugs when its handle turns around its axis.
The shutter rotates around its axis and the trigger is cocked. Therefore, when the weapon is ready to fire, the hunter has the trigger already cocked, and no additional manipulations are required.
After the trigger is pulled, the trigger movement begins under the influence of the mainspring and strikes the striker. The cartridge breaks the cartridge's capsule, the powder ignites and the charge is ejected under the influence of powder gases.

At the same time, the next charge sleeve engages, and when the bolt moves forward, the ammunition is sent to the chamber. It remains only to turn the bolt handle down, after which you can take the next shot.

Methods of finishing "tozik" are similar to the processing of MC 20-01. But the finishing of the carbine must be approached with greater responsibility because of its smaller dimensions. It is conducted in the following two areas:
- Grinding of all mating surfaces of the bolt and receiver;
- Improving the quality of all controls and reloading weapons.
Special attention should be paid to the first point, since the second point is reduced to a simple replacement of the pistol grip.

It is difficult to cause serious harm to a person (up to death), but it will definitely work to neutralize him with a shot at his legs.
