The newest Russian salvo-fire jet systems (MLRS) will be presented to the public in the near future, said Vladimir Lepin, general director of Tekhmash.
“We have actively embarked on the implementation of the program of the new RSZO Tosochka and Farming. Very soon we will publish the results of the work,” said the head of Tekhmash.
He claims that the concern will have to solve a huge number of tasks, implementing the state armament program for 2018-2027.
"We are engaged in various projects, but the most important task today is the implementation of the state defense order of a sufficiently large volume. We are trying to maximize the pace of development and production," Lepin shared his impressions.
“We have approached very seriously the development of artillery and tank ammunition. In the coming years, some projects will be completed,” the head of the concern assured.
From the available information it becomes known that the system "Agriculture" will be able to carry out the mining of the area at a distance.
"Tosochka" refers to the heavy flame-throwing complexes and should go into service with the Russian army in 2020, told the journalists the deputy director of "Tehmash" Alexander Kochkin.
A bit of history
A volley fire system is a whole armament complex consisting of a launcher, jet charges, and auxiliary means.
The progenitor of this weapon is considered to be a Korean-made Khvachkha multiply-charged cart, which was released in the 15th century.
The first real tests of such weapons were made in the 19th century, when it was possible to release about 200 powder rockets within 30 minutes when England attacked Boulogne. Then, these developments have been used during the Napoleonic Wars. The rockets of that time had many flaws, which eventually resulted in a drop in interest in weapons of this type.
The technology was revived by Soviet engineers, who in 1937 developed rockets of the RS-82 and PC-132 type. Later, their mass production for the needs of the army was established.
