Russian designers are completing work on the design of a military transport aircraft IL-276

Russian designers of aviation equipment of the public joint-stock company Aviation Complex named after S. Ilyushin (included in the structure of the United Aircraft Building Corporation) plan to complete the draft design of a promising tactical military transport aircraft Il-276 next year.

The new machine is intended to replace the fleet of morally obsolete and physically worn out transport workers of the An-12, An-26 and An-72 type in the aerospace forces of Russia. It is possible that a large batch of IL-276 will also be acquired by the Indian Ministry of Defense.

It is known that the airframe of the aircraft is made according to the classical (normal) aerodynamic scheme with a moderately swept overhead wing, on the pylons of which PS-90A-76 engines will be placed on one side of the fuselage one on each side. In the future, it is planned to replace them with more energy-efficient and economical turbofan power units PD-14, produced at the enterprises of Joint-Stock Company "JDC - Perm Motors".

The plane is created by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. According to the tactical and technical tasks formulated by the military, the maximum take-off weight of the machine should be about 65 tons. The aircraft must be able to fly at a cruising speed of about 800 km / h at a distance of at least 2,700 km, and the practical ceiling must be at least 12,000 meters.

The use of the aircraft is possible in simple and complex meteorological conditions, day and night, regardless of the climatic zones in which it is intended to be used.

At the request of the Russian military department, the on-board electronic equipment IL-276 and other components must be made exclusively within our state.

The special features of the tactical transporter include the presence of an airtight cargo compartment with dimensions of a tail ramp comparable to the size of the cargo wings of a heavy military transport aircraft Il-76, which ensures the use of well-recommended on Ilyushin-76 means of loading, unloading and landing.

The program of development and production of the IL-276 provides for the first test flight test sample no later than 2023.

Mass production of a promising aircraft can begin as early as 2026.
