Despite the developed military industry in Russia, an impressive weapon production complex, leading positions in the traumatic market in our country are occupied by weapons produced in other countries or made in Russia, but on the basis of foreign weapons. But few people know that, for example, in the same Ukraine, from where the Thunderstorm complex, made on the basis of the Fort line, came to Russia, there is a popular traumatic pistol made on the basis of a Russian gun.
Despite the fact that once Russia and Ukraine were part of a single large state, the weapons legislation in the countries is different from each other, which affects the requirements for trauma.
In Russia, the main bias legislation makes it so that the traumatic pistols do not use more powerful cartridges than those specified during the certification of weapons, as well as combat ammunition. In Ukraine, there are more stringent requirements for power charges, so the weapon, in principle, there is more reliable. Use powerful cartridges there without consequences for traumatic pistols.
Another feature is that in Ukraine there are two types of barrels, which are used in the gun, in contrast to Russia, where only one design is used. So, in both countries there is a "toothed" version of the trunks, and in Ukraine there is also a "smooth" design, the feature of which lies in the diameter: it is smaller than the bullet. An example of the adaptation of Russian travmatiki under the Ukrainian market can be seen on the example of the PMR pistol, which will be discussed in this review.
The history of the creation of a traumatic pistol PMR
The PM pistol, which at one time was in service with many power structures, has a great popularity. He was loved for his appearance, power and reliability. That is why there is a high demand for traumatic pistols made on the basis of the combat Makarov.
However, the years when the release of traumatics began in the Ukrainian and Russian markets differ. In Ukrainian, the first samples appeared many years before their appearance in Russia. Makarov, in turn, was produced only in Russia, so the question arose in Ukraine: how to adapt a popular combat pistol to traumatic equipment if we do not have it in stock?
Produce from scratch? Then would have to bear the additional costs of resources, which would affect the price of traumatic pistols. In addition, then it would be impossible to say that this weapon took on the high quality, history and features of the combat PM.
But the problem was quickly resolved, since in 2000, when the launch of the PMR pistol began, there were many gas tools on the Ukrainian arms market, which were made on the basis of Makarov. It was decided to adapt it for travmatiku.
Many experts were skeptical about the idea of remaking a gas instrument to a traumatic one. The fact is that everyone who was interested in weapons was aware of such deplorable adaptations of the company Umarex, which supplied light alloy traumatic equipment to the market of Russia and Ukraine.
The main difference of the PMR was that it is made of steel. It would seem that this should have given him a huge supply of working resources, but as soon as the experts started testing new traumatics at the shooting range, they realized that the barrel made for gas equipment does not withstand shots from traumatic charges. That is why in the same year it was decided to arrange for the delivery of Makarov’s combat samples to Ukraine in order to further adapt them for traumatics and begin release for sale.
The design of the gun PMR
Before we talk about the design in this review, we should briefly list the main technical characteristics of this traumatic weapon, the release of which began in 2000:
- Used for shooting .45 Rubber cartridges;
- The length of the barrel of the gun is 93 millimeters;
- The total length of the gun is 170 millimeters;
- The height of the gun is 127 millimeters;
- The width of the gun is 30 millimeters;
- A discharged pistol weighs 650 grams;
- The magazine holds 6 .45 Rubber cartridges.
The automation system in the PMR .45 Rubber pistol, the release of which began in 2000, works on the principle of recoil of a free shutter. The barrel is locked due to the mass of the bolt and the return spring. The spring in this gun can be removed, it is located on the trunk itself. The bore is thin-walled, the inner diameter is 8.5 millimeters.
The trigger mechanism of the PMR .45 Rubber traumatic weapon is made according to the double action scheme with an open trigger. The fire is only in single player mode. For safety, the weapon is equipped with a safety device, the lever of activation of which is located on the left of the gate. When the fuse is activated, the drummer is blocked, the trigger is removed from the platoon, which ensures the locking of the sear and the bolt.
The aiming mechanism of the PMR .45 Rubber pistol of the year 2000 is fully preserved from its combat counterpart. As mentioned above, the magazine holds a maximum of 6 rounds. The store is located in the handle, its heel is made of plastic. Ease of use when shooting is provided by plastic cheeks mounted on the pistol grip.
What can be concluded about PMR?
The gun PMR .45 Rubber, the release of which in Ukraine began in 2000, is an excellent adaptation of military weapons on a traumatic scheme. When adapting, the main components were retained, which ensures high reliability and high stock of working resource.
There is an opportunity to use more powerful cartridges specified in the documentation of weapons. To do this, simply replace the standard return spring with a stiffer one. After reviewing this gun, we can safely say that the PMR .45 Rubber can be used as the main tool for regular self-defense.
