Russian military will get chameleon camouflage

Camouflage that can change color and design depending on the environment in the foreseeable future will appear in service with the Russian army.

According to TASS, the material of this sample has already been developed, to date it is being tested. It is assumed that a similar system of disguise will receive both soldiers and armored vehicles.

It is noteworthy that the new camouflage material can repeat even a complex, dynamic background: for example, leaves swaying in the wind or grass.

To date, these developments are engaged in the company "Roselectronika", part of the state corporation "Rostec". Camouflage is an electroactive coating that can be applied to any surface, be it fabric or metal. In this case, this composition consumes no more electricity than a conventional energy-saving light bulb.

By the way, overseas talk about coatings, chameleons is not even going. The biggest achievement is the Adaptiv system of the British company BAE Systems. But it is put only on military equipment and is capable of changing the silhouette of an armored vehicle exclusively in the infrared range. That is, instead of the BMP on the imager will "glow", for example, a car.
