Stem design
Thunderstorm-01 was not produced with a huge number of options for barrels, as was done with all the other pistols of this complex. It immediately installed a reliable V4, which has amazing characteristics.
First of all, you need to know that in the barrel there are no barriers that are set to limit the use of live ammunition. To do this, the engineers simply shifted the axis of the chamber and the bore, which is a more practical solution.
But even despite the absence of barriers inside the canal, it is impossible to call it even, because along its entire length there are valleys or, as they are usually called, rifling. Of course, the Storm of Thunder-01 is not rifled, so it would never pass licensing, so these are the most common valleys that are made here to loosen the barrel itself. It is worth noting that thanks to them the accuracy of shooting increases.
Used ammunition
Thunderstorm-01, like other pistols of this series, is universal in terms of the choice of charges. You can charge any ammo to the well-known 9 mm PA series in the magazine The gun easily transfers any load even from the most powerful ammunition. In this case, experts recommend for training shooting to use only medium-power cartridges.
As for the use of weak cartridges, there are some features. In general, it is better not to use them, since there is no point in this, but if there is no other option, then for normal firing with weak cartridges without defects, you need to replace the return spring with a more rigid one.
You must also remember that when you reverse the transition to the use of powerful ammo in the weapon shop, you must replace the return spring. Using a stiffer spring will only ruin the gun.

Thunderstorm-01 has a body made of high-strength weapon steel. Despite this, the weight of the gun is only 420 grams. On the one hand, this is a remarkable indicator, as it makes it easy to transfer weapons covertly, on the other hand, it seriously affects the effectiveness of shooting.
Of course, the return when firing this weapon and the combat is incomparable, but, nevertheless, with such dimensions it is felt, especially if shooting “shot after shot” is fired. The impact handle is solved by a thickened handle, but even with it you have to get used to it, because here the return is stronger than on heavier models of the complex.

When firing from a distance of up to 5 meters, you can be sure of good accuracy and accuracy, but when shooting at 10 meters, for example, problems arise: the accuracy deteriorates significantly, the spread of bullets becomes unpredictable. At the moment, the company "Tehnoarms" is not engaged in the production of native holsters for this gun, and the cover from another travmatiki does not fit well.

Thunderstorm-01, like any other instrument of this complex, does not need additional refinement, although there are elements over which you can work if you have the desire.
The first thing you should pay attention - the handle. Standard cheeks are suitable only for a person with a wide palm. For people with medium or small builds, it is better to change the nozzles on the handle to smaller ones so that the gun is perfectly in your hand.
As for the body of the gun, there are no complaints here either. Externally, it is made perfectly, since on the surface there are no angular elements that could cling to the holster or clothing when removing the pistol.
Opportunities for tuning occur during internal disassembly of weapons. To make the trigger stroke smooth, it is necessary to grind all the rubbing components of the firing mechanism. You can also independently try to adjust the force of pressing the trigger for the shot, but if there is no experience in this matter, then it is better not to do it.
The chamber and the barrel are made at a high level, so there is no need to polish them after purchase, so you can only make it worse. Shells when firing do not swell and do not burst. The Thunderstorm-01 pistol shop is also not recommended, because nothing can be done with it. It has an extremely simple design, which provides high reliability, and a capacity of 7 rounds, which can not be increased.

This gun can be compared with another domestic product of the same class and similar in size - MP-78-9TM. But I immediately want to say that such a comparison is not entirely correct, since the difference in age for the traumatic weapons of these two copies is too big. But we will allow ourselves this, as both instruments are of domestic production.
First of all, it is worth mentioning the general quality, where Thunderstorm-01 is the absolute winner. Rejecting all the nuances of quality and reliability of the design, I would like to say that 01 is better than its opponent just by the material from which it is made. Although, if we compare it with the MR-78-9ТМ, produced on the basis of a combat PSM, then these two pistols can still compete in the "quality" column.
Next is to say that the trunk of Thunderstorm-01 is ahead of its competitor in all respects. Firstly, he has a more perfect design of the barrel itself, and secondly, its strength and reliability are simply better because it is made of better material. At a minimum, the Thunderstorm-01 barrel does not need to be fitted with a reinforcing bushing to increase strength. As for the dimensions, the MP-78-9TM wins here, but only due to a very thin and uncomfortable handle.
By power, Thunderstorm-01, which is convenient to carry in a holster, wins again, leaving no chance to his opponent. Of course, you can try to shoot from the MP-78-9TM powerful cartridges, but after a few shots, its barrel simply falls apart. Of course, 01 can be compared with the traumatics of foreign manufacturers, and there it will win in many indicators, but it’s easier to write a separate, large article about it.
From all this we can draw a small conclusion that Thunderstorm-01 in its class is the best traumatic gun of Russian origin. But do not forget that it is based on the Ukrainian Fort-9P.

Those who are going to buy this gun for entertaining shooting, I want to immediately disappoint: nothing good will come of it. More or less aimed fire can be conducted at a distance of 5 meters, then begins a large spread of bullets. But do not forget that this weapon was created specifically for self-defense, therefore it’s not possible to bring in the minuses the inability to shoot "at the banks".
