An expert on military issues, Igor Korotchenko, made a statement that from the sea, Russia is threatened, and in the first place it is a modernized Tomahawk cruise missile.
This is due to the fact that the United States has new systems of submarine and surface-based missile weapons. In this case, we are talking about the upgraded Tomahawk missiles. Modernization touched primarily tactical and technical data of this system.
These missiles are installed on destroyers of the US Navy and on multi-purpose nuclear submarines.
I. Korotchenko believes that the United Kingdom and France, which have strategic submarines, conduct joint planning under the auspices of the United States, whose target is Russia.
He is confident that Russian weapons, namely, Borei-class submarines and Caliber missiles, are fully capable of withstanding the western missile threat.
So I. Korochenko commented on the statement of the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy Admiral V. Kovalev. The latter, in turn, noted that the United States is increasing the deployment of strategic non-nuclear forces in the waters adjacent to the territory of the Russian Federation.
In December, The Washington Free Beacon reported that the Chinese Navy had completed flight tests of missile systems for the Julong-3 submarines. These systems are considered an analogue of the Trident II D-5 system and the Russian R-30 Bulava-30.
According to observers, the Tomahawk Block IV is actually a drone that has already far surpassed the capabilities of a rocket from the 80s or 90s.
