The Ministry of Defense stated that by the end of the current year, special purpose troops of the engineering units would receive a completely new OVR-ZSH outfit. This kit is designed to protect military personnel from being hit by bullets or shrapnel.
IAD-ZSH covers almost the entire body, which is extremely important for military engineering units. There are different versions of equipment: lightweight is about 6 kg, and a heavy set can weigh up to 25 kg. Protection is modular, so you can select components depending on the tasks. When creating equipment used a unique combination of plastic and ceramic plates, as well as aramid materials.
The composition of the costume
The main element of this complex is the Caspian, the top and the bottom of which are made of refractory fabric with various additional components. There are many mounts that allow you to carry with them pouches, first-aid kits and walkie-talkies, as well as entrenching tools. The developers said that the suit will withstand direct hits from a Dragunov sniper rifle from several meters. Technologies for digital protection were also applied: the status of the serviceman will be transmitted to the command post.
The kit includes head protection under the name "Warrior Shaky RSP", which withstands direct hits from bullets and shrapnel. The helmet is equipped with special headphones that suppress noise, as well as a flashlight and laryngophone.
OVR-ZSH also includes other equipment that will be useful for engineering units to perform combat missions. For example, a special knife and nippers to overcome obstacles, as well as a shield, a ladder and accessories for opening doors.
