Recently completed comprehensive tests of protected cars "Typhoon". According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, such events are necessary in order to be able to understand why and under what conditions a vehicle can be used. And based on these data, understand what is needed for the car of the future.
30 cars of two modifications took part in the tests: "Typhoon-K" and "Typhoon-U".
As noted in the military department, this mass character makes it possible to exclude subjectivity, as well as analyze all possible machine failures when performing a combat mission.
On the creation of these cars worked several defense concerns of the country. "Typhoon-K" was created on the basis of KAMAZ-63968. And his namesake "Typhoon-U" is based on machines assembled at the Ural Automobile Plant in Chelyabinsk, in particular, "Ural-63095".
Despite the similarity of the names, these machines are very, very different both in terms of performance characteristics and use.
"Typhoon-K63968" - a serial model of an armored car, assembled in Naberezhnye Chelny. It is a bonfire, multifunctional, three-axle vehicle. Being multifunctional, it has a crew of two people and can carry up to 16 people landing. His frontal armor withstands a hit of 30 mm shells. In an extreme situation, the windshield is closed with an armored shield. The landing is possible both through the ramp and through the door.
Typhoon-K consists of equipping sappers, as well as military police, military intelligence and special operations units.
"Typhoon-U63095" - bonnet, modular, triaxial.
The crew seat is a three-person armored capsule. The passenger compartment can also accommodate up to 16 people.
Its operational capabilities are enhanced. The Ural "Typhoon" can be used both for cargo transportation, as an intelligence, command-staff, ambulance or communications vehicle. In addition, it can produce engineering, radiation, chemical or biological reconnaissance.
Tests were held at the Third Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
According to the Defense Ministry, during the test, experts from the Russian Ministry of Defense developed proposals for manufacturers to increase the reliability and security of equipment.
