The hole in the hull of the Soyuz MS-09 ship is being drilled by the Americans. The Roscosmos Commission now considers this version of an emergency in orbit a priority. This surprising turn of events is reported by journalists from the Russian edition of Kommersant, citing their own sources in the domestic space industry.
Investigators believe that the deliberate damage to the ship was carried out in order to promptly return to Earth one of the sick American astronauts, who urgently needed to continue treatment in the hospital. Well, the head of "Roscosmos" Dmitry Rogozin said recently that determining the cause of the depressurization of the ship was not as easy as it was thought at first. And this is true: apparently, a dashing detective story is spinning in orbit, because the version about the insidious Americans is the second or third in a row.
"Englishwoman shits" or why astronauts have extra holes
Recall that this exciting story began on August 30, when Russian cosmonauts discovered an air leak in the Soyuz MS-09. At first, the cause of the abnormal situation was considered micrometeorite, but, having familiarized themselves with the damage more closely, they realized that it was not without human hands. The problem itself was quickly resolved by the astronauts with the help of gauze and special sealant, but a special commission was set up on the ground to clarify its causes.
Soon the press reported about the culprit of the accident. They allegedly turned out to be one of the workers who participated in the assembly of the “Union”. According to the published version, he simply drilled an extra hole in the case, and without telling anyone about it, without further ado, he covered it up with glue. Because the hole was not found during the test, and after a time - that is, already in orbit - the substance dried out and began to pass air.
In general, this course of events did not raise questions. He seemed to be quite logical and absolutely not contrary to life experience: well, who did not have to quietly take various flaws behind him in the same way, hoping that later he would carry it away somehow. The incident caused another moan in the "Internet" about the terrible collapse in the Russian space industry, but gradually began to be forgotten. And not worried. Tea is not "Proton" another crashed - think of an extra hole in the ship. But it turned out not so simple.
The experts, having carefully examined the damage, came to the conclusion that the holes had already been made in space. Moreover, the attacker did not achieve his goal the first time: the body clearly shows the traces of several drilling attempts. “Our Soyuz is at the Rassvet module - this is right at the gateway with the American part of the station. Access to our ship is possible only with the permission of our commander, but we cannot rule out unauthorized access by the Americans,” the source said.
The commission believes that the Americans intend to damage the hull so that the ship could be sent to Earth ahead of schedule. It was necessary, allegedly, for the urgent delivery of one of the crew members to the hospital. In this case, the household module, in which the hole was made, would burn at the entrance to the dense layers of the atmosphere, which guaranteedly destroyed the evidence.
The Russian side has already appealed to NASA for help in the investigation. The Americans requested the data of surveillance cameras and medical evidence of the crew. A source in Roscosmos told reporters that in the event of an emergency evacuation for medical reasons, the cost of the ship would have to be paid by the American side. It was also added that if this fact is proved, the cooperation of the two countries in space will be jeopardized. Which is very sad, because it is one of the few areas where the United States and Russia are still working together.
