Up until 2012, weapons manufacturers regularly announced many models of traumatic pistols, many of which were so much awaited by weapon lovers. However, at the end of 2011, Russian legislation was amended, imposing a ban on the production of traumatic weapons, allowing to sell only previously created models. However, AKBS company managed to squeeze into the last production window and released the TTK pistol, which uses 10x32 cartridges.
Many assumed that the weapon would be a shortened version of the well-known TT pistol. These assumptions, in principle, were confirmed. But is it really a shortened version of the TT - a controversial issue, in which we will try to understand this review.
In total, there are three main variants of the TTK pistol:
- The first option: a shortened TT, which retained its appearance. According to rumors, it was on this version that the engineers tested all the technologies that they planned to use in the final version of the TTK;
- The second option: was created entirely from scratch, but by analogy with the TT. The handle is completely copied from the guns;
- The third option: a type of pistol TTK, different different handles, which has become more convenient.
At the arms exhibition in Germany in 2012, the second and third versions were shown. After that, the AKBS company voted at the management level, at which it was decided which option to put on mass production.

As mentioned above, the traumatic pistol of the TTK is loaded with 10x32 cartridges, which have become a real breakthrough in the weapons industry. Their length is as close as possible to combat charges, which increases the power of ammunition within the limits allowed by law.
Bans 2011 severely limited the activities of many manufacturers of both the weapons and ammunition. In AKBS for a long time to decide which charges to choose. The main contender was the 9 mm RA cartridges, but then the company decided that they could produce ammunition for their guns themselves. Thus, 10x32 cartridges were born.
It is the consumer who will not be able to buy for TTC charges from some other manufacturer. However, this is not a problem, because such cartridges are common in all gun shops. They are of good quality and reasonable price.

TTK OP took over from the pistol TT all the qualities that are necessary for traumatic weapons for secretive wearing, becoming a bit shorter than the combat counterpart. It is distinguished by its small thickness, as already mentioned above, does not have any protruding parts on the body that can cling to clothing when the tool is removed. All this has a good effect on the convenience of regular wear.
In addition to the positive qualities, TTK took over from TT and some of the shortcomings with which we have to put up. First of all, it is worth mentioning the handle of the gun, which is extremely inconvenient in practical use.
The main drawback of the handle is its almost straight angle of inclination, which makes it impossible for any shooter to fire offhand. After raising the gun, the barrel is well below the target. Because of this, everyone who has bought himself such a weapon has to conduct a series of training ranges at the training ground in order to acquire the skill of effective shooting with such a feature of the gun.
The slide gate lever is also inconvenient. It protrudes too little above the surface of the tool frame, which makes its use difficult. The trigger will also have to get used to, because it does not differ in a smooth stroke.
The manufacturer managed to achieve high quality and large stock of working resources due to the use of weapon steel in the construction. Engineers had to develop the frame, bolt, barrel and return spring guides from scratch in order for the weapon to be certified for traumatics. The remaining parts were taken from the combat TT.
Automatic pistol made according to the classical scheme - recoil with a free gate. In general, the gun turned out very flat, which affects the convenience of its use. It is deprived of a fuse, so there are no additional flags on the case. The barrel can be removed, which is a rarity for travmatiki. The bore is smooth, has one pin. It was developed on the basis of the barrel of the popular traumatic gun Grand Power T12.
Drummer is made on the inertial type, it is spring-loaded. The trigger is transferred to the extreme front position, even if there is already a cartridge in the chamber, but in this case the drummer will not put pressure on the cartridge cap. The bolt lag is located on the left of the frame, the pistol is free of the gate clutch. Smooth operation of the entire automatic system is achieved by changing the shape of the notch under the disconnector in the gate.
The sighting mechanism will not allow fast firing at a distance close to the target. It includes unregulated rear sight with a thin front sight. For quick removal of the store there is a special latch, which is located on the basis of the trigger guard.

Because of the structural features of the frame, you will have to get used to it. The main disadvantage is the straight angle of the handle, which reduces the convenience of the weapon's grip. The problem is solved very simply - it is enough to hold several training firing at the range, then the hand will get used to the handle and there will be no problems with this in the future.
The gun can be safely used as the main weapon for regular self-defense. Its dimensions make it easy to carry it covertly. The most convenient handling of trauma will be when using a special holster. The high working resource reserve will allow using this pistol not only for self-defense, but also for sporting and entertaining shooting. It is only necessary not to forget to regularly clean the bore of its barrel, as well as to check the health of all parts that account for the main load during firing.
