Artillery intelligence of Russia will take "Penicillin"

Radar as a method of artillery reconnaissance will soon be a thing of the past. They have a lot of side effects. At the present level, the development of radio-electronic warfare to detect and suppress the radar is a trifling matter. Therefore, in the near future, radar systems will be replaced by radar systems. They use radically new methods to detect enemy guns and mortars.

A little more than a year ago, in the northern capital, on the basis of the Vega Research Institute, the automated sound-thermal complex of the 1B75 Penicillin army artillery intelligence was successfully tested.

For the first time about the new AZTK was announced in March last year. Subsequently, information about him was repeatedly clarified.

"Penicillin" is a mobile system based on KAMAZ-63501. The complex is able to monitor the situation in a given area and identify the location of enemy artillery, as well as correct the shooting of their guns. And it is almost impossible to detect it, because it works exclusively in the reception mode (not counting the means of communication).

As the name implies, his methods of intelligence are divided into thermal video and sound. Optical-electronic module "Penicillin-OEM" consists of six television cameras and six thermal imagers. They have an angle of view of 70 ° in azimuth and 10 ° in elevation. The signal from the cameras enters the computer where it is processed. The continuity of the cameras is 18 hours, followed by an hour off for prevention.

The sound-heat reconnaissance complex consists of four devices that collect and process acoustic signals. The main structural element is a seismic sensor.

The essence of his work is simple and effective. As you know, a shot of a gun or a projectile break creates a sound wave in the ground. The sensor detects this wave and transmits it to the computer for analysis. According to experts, the special arrangement of the four seismic sensors leads to the reception of oscillations with a certain delay - and the difference in the signal arrival time allows determining the direction to the source of oscillations, as well as the distance to it.

According to official reports, AZTK 1B75 "Penicillin" can detect an enemy firing position or place of a projectile rupture in the interval of 25 km along the front. The detection range of the enemy’s mortar is 10 km, heavy artillery is 18 km. Detection accuracy - up to 1.5 angular minutes in azimuth. It is noteworthy that for this complex will need about five seconds.

As tests have shown, the Penicillin equipment can be mounted on the chassis of any four-wheel drive and four-wheel drive vehicles with a minimum carrying capacity of 16 tons.
