In a previous publication, we looked at the arsenal of hooligans of the forties. Now we have to go back almost a decade and a half ahead. The fact is that hooligans have always had all sorts of hardware on their hands, and they used it quite successfully. Rearmament was needed only in the fifties, and the main emphasis was placed on the "weapon of hidden carrying." After all, the police didn’t doze - and for the brass knuckles in my pocket one could get in big trouble. Therefore, the punks of those times followed the path of Japanese peasants and local ninjas there. Consider a few samples of what the hooligans of the fifties and later went with.
"Chamomile"
This is the most common stalk of a shovel, which is firmly mounted gear from a large mechanism. There were no problems with such good after the war. True, with the metal in the post-war was "tension", and in the USSR there were trains not only with trophies, but also with non-ferrous and ferrous metals - that is, iron and steel. So what, what, and bat military equipment on the battlefield enough. Near the steel mills formed "skarpas", in which periodically rummaged both workers and hooligans. If fortune favored, then at such a dump it was possible to find several twisted rifles, from which it was possible to assemble one worker. But it was a rare success, and more often large gears became the target of the punks. After a simple revision, the mace was obtained. True, such weapons did not receive much distribution: it was inconvenient to wear and use. Therefore, it has become much more popular among hooligans:
Bicycle chain and its derivatives
Being wound on a fist, the chain of great becomes a kind of brass knuckles. True, such a weapon can cause injury not only to the enemy, but also to the owner, since it has no support. Therefore, the so-called "sausage" has become much more common. Proof of its popularity can be considered the fact that she won the mention in the novel of the Strugatsky brothers "Burdened by Evil." "... take a bicycle chain. Tightly wrap it with tape of ten to twelve layers. The resulting object is grabbed at any end and beat ...". Foreign writers also paid tribute to the bicycle chain. In one of the novels of J. H. Chase, she is armed with a juvenile raider. A chain strike is able to inflict a heavy, slashed wound. Unpleasant, in general, the device.
Here it is worth mentioning about ordinary chains - those on which dogs are kept. Hooligans did not make any improvements here - and so it will come down.
Army belt
He is familiar to anyone who was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet (Russian) Army. By itself, the domestic soldier’s (sailor’s) belt is a quite good flexible weapon like a custen. But its modification is also known - with lead-buckled. The “weight” obtained by this method often became a weighty argument in a dispute. However, for the manufacture of such weapons required soldering acid and flux - but both of them, as a rule, were found by servicemen. Experienced conscripts as a sign of the location to the newcomers could show a way to quickly unbutton the belt. "Trosik"
Quotes are not random here, since this type of weapon is not a cable. Structurally, it is a metal sheath from some types of cable into which the balls are thrust from the bearing. The piercing weapon is akin to sila, but it looks more impressive. It is made from the usual "dvuhsotki" nail, laid under the tram. Thus flattened, the nail was mainly used to intimidate the enemy and to stab wounds. Doubtful advantages of this device include ease of manufacture and an awesome look. Some enthusiasts, with the help of a file, supplemented flattened nails with shock teeth (in slang - “intestine”). The handle of such a weapon was often absent or was replaced by any piece of wood into which such a blade could be thrust.
"KGB Club"
It is difficult to say whether this weapon was related to the USSR State Security Committee, but among hooligans it is known by this name. It looks like a rolled-up magazine from which it is made. It is an effective tool for its proper application. It is preferable to strike the blows not with the side, but with the end. Hooligans with experience beat to a point between the nose and upper lip. Such a poke was very painful, and in the event of the appearance of the police it was possible to open a magazine and pretend to be a “nerd”, hungry for knowledge. Such weapons were used by hooligans extremely rarely. Perhaps this was due to the fact that magazines rarely fell into their hands.
Inertia stick
Under this tricky name is a piece of metal pipe. In contrast to the "KGB baton", it is more a weapon of aggression. Some enthusiasts made such weapons from walking sticks, but it was quite a laborious process. It was necessary to drill a through hole in the stick, and then drown its ends. With the pipe section, everything was much simpler. It was filled with small fractions for a third of the volume, after which the ends were riveted or closed with plugs on the thread. The principle of operation is clear: during a swing, the weighting element is first shifted to the handle, and at the moment of impact, it rushes to the opposite end.
A blow with such a baton caused severe damage and could be fatal.
Spoke
The usual tool for knitting in the hands of hooligans has become a very harmful weapon. Wearing a knitting needle is not prohibited by law, and it is possible to cause a lot of trouble to an opponent with it. Especially popular knitting needles made fashion for jeans. She was placed in the sub-seal of the seam, from where she easily reached and stuck into the enemy. Due to the subtlety and sharpness of the needle inflicted dangerous wounds, often leading to internal bleeding.
