The Russian military has completed the stage of launch launches of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile and are preparing to proceed to the next phase - flight tests. Currently, designers are analyzing an array of information obtained during rocket launches.

The RS-28 Sarmat is a fifth-generation Russian multi-stage rocket, which is planned to replace the Soviet strategic complex RS-36 Voyevoda, better known under the unofficial name Satan. It is planned that the "Sarmat" will be adopted in 2020. The development of this project is engaged in the Makeev Center.
According to the Russian edition of "Kommersant", throwing tests "Sarmat" successfully completed. The results obtained allow us to hope that the flight design tests of the missile complex will begin at the end of this year. In total, there were three launches, during which the rocket was fired from a launcher for several tens of meters with the help of powder batteries, and then the first-stage engine is activated.
During LKI, they also plan to launch three launches of Sarmat. They will also be held in Plesetsk.
In the Soviet Union, between the beginning of the throwing tests and the adoption of ICBMs in service took about five years.
A Kommersant source in the Ministry of Defense said that Sarmat belongs to the pool of so-called presidential projects, which Putin personally controls. The creation of this rocket is considered one of the most important steps to maintain strategic parity between the United States and Russia.
