LOBAYEVA SNIPER RIFLE (SVL AND SVLK-14S), TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Lobaeva sniper rifle is a modern family of Russian sniper rifles. This weapon appeared several years ago, however, today, independent experts recognize that the Lobayev SVL rifle is one of the most accurate sniper weapons in the world. She seriously pressed the American M-200 rifle, which was considered first-class in the sniper case.

The history of the Lobaev rifle

In 2009, a new company appeared in the Russian arms market, which became involved in high-precision small arms. The Tsar Cannon Company developed and manufactured the SVL rifle, which was thoroughly discussed by the weapon lovers for the next few months.

However, in 2010, the company closed, all its employees moved to the United Arab Emirates, where they settled at the TADS enterprise. The reason for the closure of the company was rumored to be a conflict with IzhMash, but there are no official comments on this matter.

Employees of the former Tsar Cannon, working in the UAE, under the leadership of V. Lobayev, created several new types of high-precision weapons. Some of them have already been adopted in the Army of the United Arab Emirates.

In 2013, Lobaev returned to Russia, where he created a new company, the IBC ("Design Bureau of Integrated Systems"). To date, the SVL model range includes 6 main models, while the development of new samples does not stop.

SVLK-14S rifle

The main feature of the 2009 Lobaev sniper rifle were:

long range;
high accuracy of fire.

Lobayeva SVLC-14S sniper rifle is currently the most long-range in the world, it was able to hit the target at a distance of 4178 meters. It became its further development, which allowed maintaining the main advantages of the previous model. This rifle can use different cartridges:

.300 Winchester Magnum;
.338 Lapua Magnum;
.408 Cheyenne Tactical.

Depending on the wishes of the rifle gets the bolt and barrel, which are designed for use with the selected cartridge. The SVLC-14C in the basic configuration is equipped with a 10.4-mm barrel and bolt, which makes it possible to use the 408 CheyTac cartridge.

The length of the SVLC-14C with a barrel length of 780 mm is 1,430 mm.
Total weight - 9.6 kg.
The initial speed of the bullet - 900 m / s.
The effective firing range reaches 2300 meters.
In the basic configuration, the muzzle brake T is used, as well as the Picatinny rail.

The trigger mechanism for the convenience of the shooter is equipped with adjustable triggering effort.

SVLK-14S is intended for firing at a distance of more than 2 kilometers. That is why its design is made as rigid as possible. The rifle receiver is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, the insert is made of high-alloy steel. The rifle does not have a magazine - the cartridge is fed manually. SVLC-14C is equipped with a LOBAEV Hummer Barrels barrel, which is manufactured from stainless steel by KBIS. The bed is made of carbon fiber, fiberglass and Kevlar. A bipod can be attached to the bed.

Rifle ovl

On the basis of sniper weapons, Lobayev created an OVL — the Lobaev hunting rifle. It has the right to purchase ordinary civilians.

OVL produced calibers .22 - .338 LM. The main feature of the rifle is the .408 CheyTac cartridge, thanks to which the target's range has been increased to 2.2 km. Shooting demonstrates accuracy of 0.2-0.3 MOA. The cost of OVL is quite high, the price for a caliber of 6.5 mm starts from 350 thousand rubles.

TSVL-8 rifle

Tactical sniper rifle was created as a weapon, which had a simplified design and high enough characteristics. TSVL-8 was created with the concept of "skeleton", as well as some modifications to reduce the load on the receiver. Therefore, the weapon received a small aluminum chassis and the original carrier system.

Characteristics of TSVL-8:

The initial speed of a bullet .338 Lapua Magnum - 900 m / s.
The maximum effective range of fire - 1400 m.
Technical accuracy - 0.4 MOA.
TSVL-8 can be completed with trunks 740 or 680 mm long. The total length of the rifle 1290 mm. The weapon is equipped with a folding butt, which allows to reduce the length to 1016 mm.
Total weight - 5.5 kg.
On the barrel, you can install the muzzle brake T-Tuner.
The supply is made from a detachable box-type magazine for 5 rounds.

TSVL-10 rifle

Another type of tactical sniper weapon. In fact, this rifle is a redesigned version of the TSVL-8 designed for use of the .408 CheyTac cartridge. The whole structure is associated with the alteration only under another type of ammunition.

Characteristics of TSVL-10:

1. Overall length - 1290 mm, with folded butt - 916 mm.
2. Total weight - 6.5 kg.
3. Used barrel length of 760 mm.
4. The initial speed of the bullet - 900 m / s.
5. The effective range of fire thanks to a new ammunition increased to 2100 m.

6. Technical accuracy - 0.4 MOA.

DXL-3 rifle

High-precision rifle DXL-3 - is a kind of transitional link between the family TSVL and SVLC-14C. Its main feature is the original aluminum box, where all units are mounted. The rifle for convenience of operation is equipped with a folding stock, which is used on products of the TSVL family.

DXL-3 specifications:

Barrels with a length of 740 or 680 mm are used. The total length in the base 1350 mm or 1076 mm with a folded butt.
Total weight - 7.2 kg.
The supply is made from a detachable box-type magazine for 5 rounds.
The maximum effective range is 1600 m.
The initial speed of the bullet - 900 m / s.
Accuracy - 0.35 MOA.

At the request of the customer, the rifle can be equipped with a bolt group and a barrel chambered for the .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum.

DVL-10 rifle

Silent sniper rifle - one of the latest developments of the ICIS. DVL-10 is offered to various units of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies that need a tool for silently and precisely performing their assigned tasks.

With a DVL-10 rifle, a subsonic cartridge called the .40 Lobaev Whisper cartridge is proposed for use. The initial velocity of the bullet is 315 m / s, allowing a significant reduction in shot noise. It is also proposed to use a silent shooting device with a subsonic cartridge; it closes the barrel.

The use of a subsonic cartridge has affected the characteristics of the weapon:

The maximum effective range DVL-10 - no more than 600 m.
Accuracy - 0.5 MOA.
The rifle's weight is 4.1 kg.
The supply is made from a detachable box-type magazine for 5 rounds.

All units are mounted on an aluminum chassis, which is equipped with a folding butt.
All KBIS rifles have high performance, so they are of great interest. However, they are unlikely to be widely distributed. And there are two reasons:

the cost of weapons;
low rates of production.

According to some data, the production capabilities of the KBIS do not allow producing more than several dozen rifles per year of each model. This is due to their manufacturing techniques. Therefore, the cost of rifles starts from a few thousand dollars.
