In the coming year, tests of two new products for the Russian Airborne Forces are scheduled: the 120-mm Lotos artillery system and the Zavet-D fire control vehicle.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in 2019 test fire tests of the SAU "Lotos" and Zavat-D fire control machines will be held. In case of success of various checks, the self-propelled artillery installation 2S42 Lotos in Uncle Vasya's Troops will replace the well-proven, but already outdated Nonu-S.
The basis of the device "Lotus", like its predecessor "Nona", put the gun caliber 120 mm. It is noteworthy that despite the quite ordinary artillery caliber, a shot from the “Lotus” will only yield a little to the effect of a 152 mm caliber cannon.
The manufacture of "Lotus" is engaged in TsNIITOCHMASH, part of the state corporation "Rostec".
Recall that both "Lotos" and "Testament" can be delivered by military transport aircraft and parachute parachute landing.
