India developed its anti-tank missile

India experienced the first in its military design activity anti-missile Helina. Testing took place at the site Chandipur, Orissa.

According to official militaristic sources in India, the checks were successful: the guidance system identified the target and held it for the duration of the flight.

By the way, the Helina rocket is a version of the helicopter-based NAG rocket and is capable of hitting heavily armored targets at a distance of 7-8 km.

NAG missiles are the basis of a promising anti-tank missile complex MPATGM. Its development has been carried out since 2015, while the establishment of mass production of new anti-tank systems will take several more years.

The Indian Defense Ministry has repeatedly attempted to procure foreign anti-tank systems. At first, it abandoned American Javelin in favor of Israeli Spike missiles, but later decided to purchase a consignment of MPATGM complexes.
