40 Turkish tanks M60T "Sabra" waiting for a major upgrade. Until the end of this year, in order to strengthen their defense capability, unique active protection complexes Pulat AKS will be installed on them.

The complex will allow to protect the tank from cumulative projectiles, anti-tank guided missiles, as well as from anti-tank guns and from armor-piercing sabot pierced shells.
In the Turkish military, they paid attention to the fact that the security of the main battle tanks turned out to be somewhat weak during combat operations against various terrorist groups in Syria. Especially easy to hit Turkish tanks anti-tank missile systems.
Following these dramatic events, the Turkish Defense Ministry decided to equip the main battle tanks with active defense complexes.
Recall that the M60 type tanks are the development of American designers. Currently, the M60 of various modifications constitute the backbone of the Turkish Army.
But the basis of the complex "Barrier-L" were based on long-standing Soviet developments from the program "Barrier" of the early 80s of the last century.
Agreement on the supply of KAZ "Zaslon-L" Turkey and Ukraine concluded in 2017. His deliveries began only in the middle of the current one. According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, all the acquired complexes will be installed on M60-A3 tanks.
