Belarusians made their first heavy drone drone

In Belarus, a shock drone “Yastreb” was created with a maximum take-off weight of up to 700 kg and a firing range of up to 50 km. About this reports authoritative publication Jane's.

The development of the drone was carried out by the specialists of the "Research and Production Center of Multifunctional Unmanned Systems" at the Academy of Sciences of the country. At present, the Hawk is the heaviest UAV created by the Belarusian industry. It can be used to perform not only military, but also civilian tasks.

What is hawk capable of?

Information about this project of the Belarusian military industrial complex appeared in the press at the beginning of this year. Then it was reported that a prototype of the aircraft would be presented in the fall and its flight tests would start.

The "hawk" is built according to a two-beam scheme, it is equipped with an Austrian Rotax Austrian internal combustion engine with a pusher propeller. The drone will be manufactured in three versions: reconnaissance, shock, and air targets. Cruising speed drone is 120 km / h, and the maximum he can accelerate to 220 km / h. The time spent in the air is 6 hours; when using the outboard tank, it increases to 10 hours. The maximum payload of the UAV is 120 kg.

The drone is equipped with a television camera, thermal imager and laser range finder.

Armament is placed on the outer nodes of the aircraft. The “hawk” can be equipped with three missiles, each weighing 25 kg. They will be able to carry high-explosive fragmentation or armor-piercing warheads. The manufacturer of the drone reports that at a distance of 50 km, the aiming error is only two meters.

It should be noted that in recent years Belarus has become an increasingly prominent player in the market for unmanned aerial vehicles, both military and civilian. At the military-technical forum "Army-2016" Belarusian drones created a real sensation. Particularly great interest was caused by the heavy Petrel UAV, weighing up to 250 kg and a payload of 70-80 kg. This aircraft is also made according to the double-beam scheme with a pushing propeller. Its maximum speed is 250 km / h, cruising - 80-120 km / h, and the range of working heights - from 200 to 5 thousand meters.

In the air "Petrel" can be up to 10 hours, covering up to 1 thousand km during this time. The guaranteed information transmission distance is 290 km - which is the most important characteristic of any modern UAV. Data acquisition occurs almost in real time, with almost no delays.

This unmanned vehicle can carry a stabilized platform on which a video camera, thermal imager, laser range finder or other sensors can be placed. Initially, this machine was developed for the needs of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, but after the start of flight tests, it became clear that its characteristics are more suitable for the military.

Another interesting development of the Belarusian engineers is the unmanned airship "BAK EM50", capable of lifting loads weighing up to 10 kg. Its length is 10.2 m, and its diameter is 2.25-2.63 m. The maximum flight speed is up to 60 km / h, height is 500 m. This device can be in the air for up to 11 hours. The application radius is 50 km.

The unmanned airship was designed by experts from the Physico-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Designers very much hope that the military will be interested in the aircraft: the airship can be effectively used for the needs of air defense, protection of land borders and water areas, reconnaissance and target designation.
