New Chinese radar with air-cooled AFAR

Chinese engineers have made a technological breakthrough in the development of aviation airborne electronic means of detecting and tracking airborne targets.

The world's first sample of an airborne radar (BRLS) with an active phased antenna array (AFAR) with air cooling LKF601E is presented by Chinese developers.

The sample was first introduced by AVIC at the Zhuhai China Air Show. The Chinese military plan to install a new radar complex on the J-10A fighter jets, which will significantly increase the capabilities of the aircraft to detect and track airborne targets.

Installation of complexes on light fighters JF-17 Block 3 of the Pakistan Air Force, as well as supply to other interested countries, is also not excluded.

The transition from liquid to air cooling significantly reduces the mass of the electronic equipment of the aircraft and facilitates the maintenance of aircraft equipment at the airport.

Due to the reduction in weight characteristics, a powerful and highly effective radar with an active phased antenna array with air cooling can be installed on advanced light fighters.
